Inauguration of School Classroom and Hostel Buildings Constructed at a Cost of ₹171.16 Crores by the Tamil Nadu School Education Department
Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. M.K. Stalin, inaugurated newly built school classroom buildings and hostel facilities constructed by the Tamil Nadu School Education Department at a total cost of ₹171.16 crores. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also issued appointment orders for 49 individuals based on compassionate grounds.
Today, on November 8, 2024, at the Secretariat, Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru. M.K. Stalin inaugurated 754 new classroom buildings, 17 laboratory buildings, and hostel facilities for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Avishi Vidyalaya schools constructed under Integrated School Education at a cost of ₹171.16 crores. Additionally, the Chief Minister presented appointment orders to five of the 49 candidates selected for compassionate employment.
The Tamil Nadu government has implemented various schemes to enhance the welfare of students, such as the nutritious meal scheme, free footwear for public school students, the Illam Thedi Kalvi (Education at Doorstep) scheme, the Nam Palli Nam Perumai (Our School, Our Pride) scheme, the Ennum Ezhuthum (Numeracy and Literacy) program, and the Nam School Foundation Kindergarten initiative. The government is also improving classrooms, water facilities, sanitation, electrical provisions, and recruiting teachers to enhance the quality of education.
The Chief Minister’s inauguration today included the following:
New Buildings for School Education: A total of 754 classrooms, 17 laboratories, and hostel buildings for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Kallakurichi district and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Avishi Vidyalaya in Perambalur district were inaugurated, constructed at a cost of ₹171.16 crores across 29 districts in 141 government schools.
Compassionate Employment Appointments: Appointment orders were issued to 49 dependents of deceased government employees, including 43 junior assistants and six typists, with five receiving orders from the Hon’ble Chief Minister today.
This event was attended by Hon’ble Minister for School Education Thiru. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Secretary of Public Works Thiru. N. Muruganandam, IAS, and Director of School Education Thiru. P. Kanappan among other officials.
