CM Shri Bhupendra Patel Participates in Chhath Puja Maha Parva in Ahmedabad

Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, participating in Chhath Maha Parva Puja in Ahmedabad, emphasised Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ (A Glorious, United Nation) which resonates through the celebration of traditional festivals from various states. Chhath Puja, organized by the Chhath Mahaparva Samanvay Trust, Hindi Bhashi Mahasangh, and Maa Janki Seva Samiti, brought together families from Bihar, Jharkhand, and eastern Uttar Pradesh living in Ahmedabad, celebrating with vibrant energy and devotion.

The Chief Minister emphasized that festivals and celebrations are core to Indian culture. He noted that families from states like Bihar and Jharkhand, who have settled across the country for work, keep their traditions alive by celebrating festivals wherever they are. Many people from these regions have made Gujarat their ‘Karma Bhoomi’ (place of livelihood), and festivals like Chhath Puja are celebrated here to provide them with a connection to their homeland. He further expressed that Prime Minister Modi’s vision of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family) is realized through such celebrations, which strengthen unity and togetherness. Drawing parallels, he mentioned that just as festivals like Navratri and Uttarayan have become essential to Gujarat’s cultural identity, Chhath Puja has become a unique identity for Bihar and northern Indian states. Conveying his best wishes for Chhath Maha Parva, he wished that the nation would continue progressing in unity, working toward fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Shri Lalit Kumar Jha, Trustee of the Chhath Mahaparva Planning Committee, warmly welcomed everyone and described the significance of the Puja festival. Also present at the event were Ahmedabad’s Mayor Smt. Pratibha Jain, Deputy Mayor Shri Jatin Patel, Standing Committee Chairman Shri Devang Dani, Additional Chief Secretaries Shri M.K. Das and Shri S.J. Haider, former state minister Shri I.K. Jadeja, Shri Pradip Parmar, and numerous families from Bihar and other states.
