CM Pu Lalduhoma Conducts Review Meeting With PWD.

Aizawl : Today, a review meeting was held at the Secretariat Conference Hall, chaired by Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma, to assess the progress of the Public Works Department (PWD).

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of closely monitoring departmental projects, ensuring transparency, and addressing challenges. “We are here to openly discuss our efforts and difficulties, and to strengthen our commitment to delivering results,” he stated.

The meeting was attended by PWD Minister Pu Vanlalhlana, PWD officials, and representatives from other departments such as the Environment, Forest & Climate Change Minister Pu Lalthansanga, Land Revenue & Settlement Minister Pu B. Lalchhanzova, Law Department officials, and a few PWD contractors.

The PWD currently oversees various projects, including:

SASCI Project: 126 projects
PMGSY: 53 projects
NEC/NESIDS: 29 projects
NEPD/SEDP: 9 projects
NABARD: 51 projects
CSS: 8 projects
CRF/SCA: 10 projects
MoRT&H: 15 projects
Bridges Works: 21 projects
Mixed Head: 10 projects
Sanction Head 5054 (Road & Bridges): 192 projects

Challenges faced in these ongoing projects were highlighted, and solutions to overcome them were discussed.

The Chief Minister also announced plans to conduct individual departmental review meetings on a quarterly basis. This review marks the second session of the year, with the first session covering the Horticulture, PHE, and RD departments. Departmental leaders expressed their appreciation for the Chief Minister’s oversight, noting it encourages more efficient and effective project delivery.

Chief Minister Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, Adviser to the CM, Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner & Secretary to the CM, Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary of Planning, Pu Lalthansanga, Secretary of Finance, and other key officials were present at the meeting.
