Postal Ballot Voting with Enthusiasm by Police Officers at Facilitation Centers

Start of Postal Voting for Police Officers on Election Duty in 7 Assembly Constituencies of Mumbai City District

Mumbai : The administration is prepared for the implementation of the state assembly general elections. To ensure that police officers and personnel on election duty can exercise their right to vote, postal voting commenced today at facilitation centers in seven assembly constituencies of Mumbai City District: Dharavi, Sion Koliwada, Sewri, Byculla, Malabar Hill, Mumbadevi, and Colaba.

In the state, voting will be conducted in a single phase on November 20, 2024, from 7 AM to 6 PM. The Election Commission of India has provided postal voting facilities to enable officers and personnel on national duty, military officers, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens over 85 years of age to cast their votes. Those appointed on election duty, who applied for postal voting through Form ’12’ or ’12A’ with the Returning Officer, received postal ballots after verification by the respective election officials. Police officers on election duty enthusiastically participated in postal voting today in the constituencies of Dharavi, Sion Koliwada, Sewri, Byculla, Malabar Hill, Mumbadevi, and Colaba.

For the constituencies of Sion Koliwada, Sewri, Byculla, Malabar Hill, Mumbadevi, and Colaba, police officers on election duty can cast their postal ballots from 9 AM to 5 PM until November 16, 2024. In the Dharavi constituency, postal voting was only available today. Postal voting is also available from November 15 to 17 in Wadala constituency, from November 16 to 17 in Worli constituency, and on November 16 in Mahim constituency.

Police officers showed a sense of fulfillment as they performed their duty and responsibility by voting while serving during this festival of democracy. Many police officers proudly raised their inked fingers, a mark of voting, and took selfies with enthusiasm after casting their postal ballots.
