Prayagraj Mahakumbh to celebrate confluence of art, culture, and spirituality

Prayagraj : The Yogi government is dedicated to making the Prayagraj Mahakumbh a true reflection of India’s rich cultural heritage. The Uttar Pradesh Culture Department is organizing a series of events that will highlight various aspects of Indian art, faith, and spirituality.

The Mahakumbh will offer visitors a glimpse into Sanatan Dharma’s spiritual traditions alongside vibrant cultural displays. The “Kala Kumbh” exhibition, set up near the Nagvasuki area, will showcase diverse art forms from across the country, providing devotees and tourists with a deeper understanding of India’s artistic richness after their holy bath at Triveni.

Three major cultural platforms will be constructed in the Jhunsi and Arail Sangam areas, each accommodating over 1,000 spectators. Over 35 days, these venues will host classical and folk performances, excluding bathing festival days. Additionally, renowned artists will perform at the Ganga Pandal on the Parade Ground, ensuring an immersive cultural experience for all visitors to the Mahakumbh.

Visitors to the Mahakumbh will be greeted with the ethos of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’. Beyond the main Kumbh area, cultural stages will be set up at various locations across the city. Twenty smaller stages will be strategically placed along key routes leading to the Kumbh to welcome and entertain pilgrims and tourists.

These stages will exclusively feature talented folk artists, who will showcase their diverse art forms through round-the-clock performances. The Culture Department plans to commence these vibrant cultural presentations on January 10, 2025.
