All Departments Must Coordinate for Planning the Upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela: District Collector Jalaj Sharma

Nashik : To prepare the final plan for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela, all departments must comprehensively evaluate necessary aspects and coordinate planning as per the instructions of the Honorable Divisional Commissioner of Nashik, directed District Collector Jalaj Sharma to the attending officials.

Speaking at a meeting held today in the central hall of the District Collectorate, District Collector Sharma emphasized the importance of meticulous planning. Nashik Municipal Commissioner Dr. Ashok Karanjkar, District Surgeon Dr. Charudatta Shinde, Superintendent Engineer of the Public Works Department Arundhati Sharma, Resident Deputy Collector Rajendra Wagh, Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department Uday Palve, Additional Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Chaudhary, Chief Officer of Trimbakeshwar Municipal Council Dr. Shreya Devchakke, and other officials from related departments were present.

District Collector Sharma stated that the Simhastha Kumbh Mela will take place in 2027 in Nashik city and Trimbakeshwar. Being a significant national event, it is expected to draw a large number of devotees. Therefore, the participation of all departments is crucial, and detailed planning is necessary. Weekly review meetings will be held every Tuesday at 4 PM under the chairmanship of the Divisional Commissioner, where the progress of each department will be assessed. Attendance of departmental officials in these meetings is mandatory.

The draft plans prepared by Nashik Municipal Corporation and Trimbakeshwar Municipal Council were reviewed during the meeting. District Collector Sharma provided guidance on additional components to be incorporated and modifications required in the draft. To understand the facilities and requirements for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, a meeting with local sadhus, mahants, and akhara leaders from Nashik and Trimbakeshwar will be organized soon, informed District Collector Sharma during the meeting.
