24 First-Class Veterinary Hospitals Upgraded to Multi-Purpose Centers: Government Strengthens Veterinary Infrastructure
Jaipur : In line with the 2024-25 budget announcement, the Rajasthan government has approved the administrative and financial sanction to upgrade 24 first-class veterinary hospitals into multi-purpose veterinary hospitals.
Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Shri Joraram Kumawat stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the government’s goal is to ensure the welfare of livestock and the economic upliftment of livestock owners. Expanding veterinary services is a critical step in achieving this. As part of this initiative, orders have been issued to upgrade 24 hospitals to multi-purpose veterinary centers, enhancing the state’s veterinary infrastructure.
These upgraded centers will offer specialized services in surgery, gynecology, and medicine under one roof, along with facilities like X-ray, sonography, and advanced diagnostics, reducing the need for livestock owners to travel. This will save time, effort, and expenses while providing quicker access to departmental schemes.
The upgraded hospitals are located in Jaipur (5), Pali (4), Barmer (3), Ajmer (2), Jalore (2), and one each in Dausa, Chittorgarh, Nagaur, Kuchaman City, Karauli, Sirohi, Tonk, and Rajsamand.
Additionally, new posts for these centers have been approved, and funds of ₹1 lakh per hospital have been allocated for necessary equipment and furniture. Recently, the government also upgraded 19 veterinary hospitals to first-class hospitals and 98 veterinary sub-centers to full-fledged hospitals.
