Ratapani “Tiger Reserve” to Boost Tourism and Employment Opportunities: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav extended heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on behalf of the citizen of the state for designating Ratapani as the state’s eighth “Tiger Reserve.” He highlighted that the establishment of the Tiger Reserve would not only boost tourism but also create new employment opportunities. Chief Minister further noted that the official notification declaring Ratapani as the eighth Tiger Reserve was issued on December 2.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted that Ratapani is the first tiger reserve located near a state capital. Its proximity to the capital will not only generate employment opportunities through tourism but also facilitate the effective conservation of forests, tigers, and other wildlife. He said that to minimize inconvenience for villagers, the villages within the Ratapani sanctuary have been included in the buffer area instead of the core zone. He emphasized that the establishment of the tiger reserve will bring international recognition to Ratapani and to Bhopal as the “Tiger Capital.” The core area of Ratapani Tiger Reserve spans 763.812 square kilometers, while the buffer area covers 507.653 square kilometers, making the total area of the reserve 1,271.465 square kilometers.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that permission has been granted by the NTCA for Madhya Pradesh’s ninth tiger reserve, Madhav National Park. He stated that the process of issuing its official notification has begun and is expected to be completed within a month. The Chief Minister also highlighted that Madhya Pradesh has earned the distinction of being a “Cheetah State” and extended his best wishes to the people on International Cheetah Day.
