Shrimad Bhagvad Gita paves the way for self-righteousness and the path of duty: CM Dr. Yadav

As per the directives of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the International Gita Mahotsav will be celebrated statewide on Gita Jayanti, 11th December. The festival will take place from 8th to 12th December at the Kalidas Sanskrit Academy premises in Ujjain, with the main event scheduled for 11th December at the Motilal Nehru Stadium in Bhopal. A cultural evening will also be held at the Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium in Indore. District headquarters will host cultural activities inspired by the Sri Krishna tradition, while the Karmayoga chapter of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita will be recited in district jails. The International Gita Mahotsav, organized by Maharaja Vikramaditya Shodhpeeth, will feature performances by Vaishnav tradition-based cultural theater groups, renowned lyricist Shri Manoj Muntashir, motivational speaker Shri Vivek Bindra, singer Swasti Mehul, and the Sadho Band. Additionally, a statewide photo exhibition will showcase themes of Gau and Gopal alongside displays based on the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and Puranas. This multifaceted celebration aims to honor the rich heritage and teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.

Shri Krishna Patheya Yojana: A Pathway to Heritage and Progress

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that Lord Shri Krishna stands as a radiant symbol of renaissance, progress, and national identity in India. Revered as Yogiraj, Yugpurush, Nyaya-Priya, and Jagatguru, Lord Krishna serves as a timeless inspiration for literature, culture, science, cow breeding, agriculture, and water conservation, embodying the essence of Indian cultural heritage. Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Yadav, the Madhya Pradesh government has launched the Shri Krishna Patheya Yojana to draw inspiration from Lord Krishna’s life and teachings. This initiative aims to rediscover the transformative contributions made by Lord Krishna during his journeys through Mathura, Ujjain, Amravati, Kurukshetra, and Dwarka. The scheme aspires to leverage his enduring legacy to chart a path for societal development and progress.

Gita forms the basis of Indian philosophy and thinking

Notably, Shrimad Bhagavad Gita forms the basis of Indian philosophy and thinking, which makes man experience divinity within him through good deeds. It gives self-realization of self-righteousness to the entire human society, it leads towards the path of true duty. Also, the basic idea behind the concept of development through heritage is the eternal traditions, beliefs and its beneficial social consequences. In this sequence, on the occasion of Gita Jayanti, International Gita Mahotsav is being organized across Madhya Pradesh.

Manoj Muntashir’s Gita Samvad on 8th, Vivek’s motivational speech on 11th

Director of Research Chair Shriram Tiwari said that cultural activities of International Gita Mahotsav will be held at Kalidas Sanskrit Academy campus in Ujjain from 8 to 12 December 2024. On the first day of this five-day festival, there will be a Gita Samvad by famous lyricist Manoj Muntashir. Thereafter the great drama Guru Dakshina based on the story of Shri Krishna-Guru Sandipani and directed by Suman Saha (Kolkata) will be staged.

Competitions based on the Gita to be held along with Mahanatya Krishnayana presentation

On the second day, the great drama Krishnayana directed by Shri Sanjeev Malviya will be presented. Gita -based competitions will be held on 10th December at 10 am. In this sequence, a seminar based on Shrimad Bhagavad Gita will be organized from 11 am in which subject experts from India and abroad will address the gathering. The cultural evening will be devoted to famous singer Sushri Kalapini Komkali and her bhajans on Lord Krishna. After this, the dance drama ‘Shri Krishna: Anek Naam-Anek Dham’ will be presented by Shri Kumar Sharma and his team.

5108 Acharyas will recite the Gita

The festival will begin with cultural programmes on 11th December. There will be discourses, recitation of Gita by 5108 Acharyas, motivational speech by Shri Vivek Bindra, distribution of awards of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita and value-based education competitions, Sudarshan Chakra – presentation of Shri Krishna Gatha dance drama. The complete Gita recitation and Yagya will be performed on 12th December from 8.00 am.

Bhopal to witness world record of Srimad Bhagavad Gita recitation

Karmayoga chapter of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita will be recited by Acharyas at Motilal Nehru Stadium in Bhopal on 11th December to create a world record. Sadho band and troupe will perform in the cultural evening. Apart from this, an initiative will be taken to keep one copy each of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Valmiki Ramayana and Ramcharitmanas at tourist places and other important places of the state for tourists/researchers.

Swasti Mehul’s musical presentation in Indore

Singer Swasti Mehul and team, Mumbai will present songs based on Shri Krishna at Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium in Indore.

Exhibition on Gau aur Gopal and Shrimad Bhagwat Purana in Kurukshetra by Madhya Pradesh

The Director of the Research Chair said that a picture exhibition based on Gau aur Gopal and Shrimad Bhagwat Purana will be organized by Madhya Pradesh in the programme organized till 15th December on the occasion of Gita Jayanti in Kurukshetra, Haryana. Besides, presentations based on Shri Krishna-based bhajans, dance, drama singing etc. will be made.
