Securing her second World Cup title of the year, Mona Aggarwal continued her impressive performance after triumphing in the identical event at the World Cup held in New Delhi just last month, where she also earned a Paralympic quota. Slovakia’s Verónica Vadovicova claimed the silver medal with a score of 250, while Swedish shooter Anna Benson secured the bronze with a score of 228.8, demonstrating their remarkable skills on the global stage.
Mona, a 37-year-old mother of two, exhibited exceptional form in the final, showcasing her precision as all 24 of her shots landed above the 10-point mark. Despite starting from the fifth position in the qualification round with a score of 625.5, Mona displayed remarkable consistency and determination in the final. Interestingly, she had previously excelled in shot put and powerlifting at the state level before transitioning to shooting in December 2021, highlighting her versatility and adaptability in sports.
