Animal Husbandry Minister Flags Off Liquid Nitrogen Transport Vehicles

536 Mobile Veterinary Units, Helpline Number 1962 Are Major Achievements of the Year: Animal Husbandry Minister

Jaipur : Animal Husbandry, Cow Rearing, and Dairy Minister Shri Zoraram Kumawat ceremoniously flagged off five liquid nitrogen transport vehicles under the aegis of the Rajasthan Livestock Development Board on Wednesday after performing traditional prayers. Liquid nitrogen is used for artificial insemination in livestock breed improvement.

On this occasion, the minister stated that to streamline and strengthen the distribution of liquid nitrogen, transport vehicles were provided to 15 districts in June under the 100% centrally funded National Gokul Mission scheme by the Government of India. With the availability of these vehicles in five more districts, most districts now have this facility. He highlighted that for the first time, these vehicles are equipped with pulley systems for lifting and placing nitrogen jars, easing the burden on departmental staff and reducing the risk of jar damage.

Additionally, the minister shared that to enhance liquid nitrogen storage facilities, apart from vehicle supply, new silos with a capacity of 3,000 liters each have been installed in 29 districts across the state.

Shri Kumawat emphasized that under the sensitive guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the able leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government is committed to the welfare of animals. He noted that December 15 marks one year of the government’s tenure, during which several achievements have been made to improve the conditions of livestock farmers.

Among these, the Animal Husbandry Department launched 536 Mobile Veterinary Units and a 1962 helpline service, providing medical assistance for animals at the doorsteps of livestock farmers in remote villages and hamlets. This initiative is considered a major milestone. The assistance amount under the Camel Conservation Scheme has been increased from ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 to promote camel preservation. Furthermore, preparations for the Mangla Livestock Insurance Scheme are nearing completion, under which 21 lakh milch animals will be insured within a year.

Responding to questions from journalists on “Rising Rajasthan,” Shri Kumawat said that Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma organized this program in the very first year of the government to make Rajasthan a developed and self-reliant state. Over the next four years, this initiative will lead to new schemes and projects being implemented, establishment of new industries, employment for lakhs of people, and the state’s progress on the path of development.

It is noteworthy that in June this year, liquid nitrogen transport vehicles were distributed to 15 districts. Now, these vehicles are being dispatched to the five districts of Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Rajsamand, and Barmer. All vehicles are 100% sponsored under the Central Government’s National Gokul Mission scheme.

On this occasion, several dignitaries were present, including Dr. Samit Sharma, Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry, Cow Rearing, and Fisheries; Dr. Anand Sejra, Chief Executive Officer of the Rajasthan Livestock Development Board; Prahlad Sahay Naga, Director of the Cow Rearing Department; and Dr. Sureshchand Meena, Additional Director of the Animal Husbandry Department, along with senior officials and employees of the department.
