Harish Rao submits his Resignation letter at the Martyrs Memorial
Harish Rao, the senior MLA from BRS, has responded decisively to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s challenge by publicly releasing his resignation letter at the Martyrs Memorial in Hyderabad. He made it clear that he is prepared to step down as a legislator if the state government, led by the Congress, fulfils its promise of waiving farm loans by August 15th.
This exchange stems from CM Revanth Reddy’s statement earlier in the week, wherein he pledged to resign if the crop loan waiver isn’t implemented by the specified date. He then threw down the gauntlet to Harish Rao, challenging him to resign if the government fulfils the promise.
Harish Rao, in turn, has not shied away from the challenge. He had previously called out CM Reddy to join him at the Martyrs Memorial to present their resignation letters, emphasizing transparency by involving intellectuals. Fulfilling his commitment, Harish Rao submitted his resignation format to the media at the memorial.
In his address to the media, Harish Rao reiterated that the CM should demonstrate his dedication to the loan waiver promise by submitting his resignation letter as well. He also pledged to abstain from contesting elections if the Congress government upholds its commitment by the specified deadline. Furthermore, he stated that if the government indeed fulfils the loan waiver pledge, media representatives will deliver his resignation letter to the Speaker.
Harish Rao has challenged CM Reddy to exhibit his sincerity by sending his resignation letter through staff if unable to personally visit the Martyrs Memorial. This development has drawn significant attention, with BRS party activists gathering in support of Harish Rao at Gun Park, indicating the stakes involved in this political standoff.
