Priyanka Emphasizes : “Your vote, your choice. Use it for yourself, your family, your community, and your nation.”
“Priyanka stresses, ‘Your vote belongs to you, not to any politician, including myself, or any political party. Use it for yourself, your home, your family, your village, your city, your state, and your country.”
Lok Sabha 24 : Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, in a refreshing twist to BJP’s familiar slogan of “ab ki baar 400 paar” (this time, over 400 seats), introduced a new mantra resonating with the people’s aspirations: “ab ki baar aap ki sarkar, ab ki baar janata ki sarkar” (this time, a government run by you, a government run by the people). At a rally in Latur, Maharashtra, she highlighted the disillusionment of the populace towards the current government’s theatrics and emphasized the need for a governance that prioritizes the welfare of the people.
Maharashtra is a Crucial state which has 48 LS seats, the second-highest number of Lok Sabha MPs, In her address, Gandhi criticized the BJP-led government for its failure to address issues like inflation and unemployment, resonating with the sentiments of voters. She underscored the importance of truth in leadership, stating that voters seek leaders who uphold their responsibilities and prioritize public service over political theatrics.
Seizing on the opportunity to take a dig at the BJP and PM Modi, who have crystallised their target of the NDA winning 400 Lok Sabha seats into the “ab ki baar 400 paar (this time, over 400 seats) slogan, Ms Gandhi said in Hindi, “Ab ki baar aap ki sarkar, ab ki baar janata ki sarkar. You have suffered enough. PM Modi and all his ministers have understood that the people’s mood is changing, that their drama and theatrics will no longer work and the only thing that will work is the truth.”
“Voters want the truth and want to go back to their old religious tradition where every leader bows before the people and realises that he or she has a huge responsibility to them, the biggest being that the truth should be told. A leader’s duty is to serve people, and this is a tradition you have inculcated in politicians. But you are now stepping back and are now giving leaders the impression that they can talk about religion, and they don’t have to do any work for voters,” she added.
Furthermore, Gandhi recounted an encounter with a voter in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, illustrating the prevalence of divisive politics based on religion and caste. She urged voters to prioritize their own interests, focusing on issues such as infrastructure, education, water supply, and employment, rather than being swayed by identity politics.
Responding to Prime Minister Modi’s diversionary tactics, Gandhi refuted claims of wealth redistribution and criticized the trivialization of political discourse. She highlighted the success of Congress’ promises in Karnataka as evidence of their commitment to fulfilling manifesto pledges.
In essence, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s address encapsulates a call for accountable governance, emphasizing the need for leadership rooted in truth, service, and the welfare of the people.
