Wildlife sculptures, new gate, and facilities to transform Madan Mohan Malviya Park

Mahakumbh Nagar : The Yogi government’s preparations for Mahakumbh 2025 are gaining momentum, with rapid progress being witnessed in construction, renovation, and beautification projects across the Mahakumbh Mela area and the city of Prayagraj.

As part of these efforts, the Forest Department has embarked on the beautification of Madan Mohan Malaviya Park on Yamuna Bank Road. This initiative includes installing a statue of the esteemed visionary Madan Mohan Malaviya, a prominent figure in Prayagraj’s rich history, within the park.

The park will also feature a new entrance gate, wildlife-themed sculptures, and separate restrooms for men and women. These upgrades aim to provide a pleasant experience for visitors during Mahakumbh 2025 while introducing them to the iconic figures of Prayagraj’s history.

Mahakumbh, held every twelve years, has always been a matter of pride and honor for the people of Prayagraj. Since ancient times, saints, ascetics, royals, and temple priests, along with prominent personalities from Prayagraj, have played significant roles in making this grand event successful. Among them, the name of Madan Mohan Malviya stands out.

During British rule, he ensured the continuation of Mahakumbh’s traditional practices, even compelling colonial authorities to organize the event under specific conditions. Aligned with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of honoring great contributors to India’s cultural heritage, a statue of Madan Mohan Malviya will be installed in the park, showcasing his remarkable contributions to Prayagraj and the nation.

Arvind Yadav, District Forest Officer of Prayagraj, shared that under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, beautification work at Madan Mohan Malviya Park is progressing at a cost of approximately Rs 2 crore. As part of this project, a statue of Madan Mohan Malviya will be installed, and the park’s main entrance gate will also be constructed.

To enhance the experience for visitors, especially children, wildlife-themed sculptures will be installed in the park, offering both educational and recreational value. These features aim to inspire children toward wildlife conservation. Additionally, separate restrooms for men and women will be built to ensure convenience for tourists.

The Chief Minister has directed that all these enhancements be completed before Mahakumbh 2025, ensuring the park is ready to welcome pilgrims and visitors during the grand event.
