MP PP Chowdhury Chairs DISHA Meeting, Emphasizes Timely Implementation of Welfare Schemes

Jaipur : Pali Lok Sabha MP and Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee for ‘One Nation, One Election,’ Shri PP Chowdhury, chaired a meeting of the Jodhpur Rural District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at the Marwar International Center in Jodhpur district on Tuesday. He instructed that plans and ongoing projects be completed efficiently and within the stipulated time. He emphasized that all officers should work with team spirit and cooperate for the overall development of Jodhpur city and rural districts.
Review of ongoing plans and works: MP Shri Chowdhury reviewed the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission, road construction, power supply, and other schemes. He directed that the benefits of public welfare schemes should reach all eligible individuals. He emphasized that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the removal of illegal connections should be expedited through rural drain surveys, and reservoirs that have not been constructed should be filled with water promptly.
Mr. Chowdhury also instructed that a list of all under-construction roads be prepared and ensured accountability for those where work has not been completed on time. He urged immediate action on suggestions made by public representatives and stressed the importance of timely follow-up and reporting on these points.
Ministerial remarks on employment and welfare: During the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs, Law, and Justice Minister Shri Jogaram Patel stated that departmental officers should ensure prompt action on the suggestions of people’s representatives. He called for increased employment generation under MGNREGA and the swift resolution of issues in rural areas. He also highlighted the need for special attention to cleanliness and basic facilities to promote tourism. Additionally, he directed that the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, and other schemes be closely monitored. He encouraged all departments to leverage digital platforms to inform the public about available schemes.
Focus on healthcare and punishment: MP Shri Chowdhury stressed that basic facilities in Jodhpur district medical institutions should be improved. He directed the effective implementation of the ‘TB Free Jodhpur’ campaign and instructed the preparation of an action plan for establishing digital libraries in all government schools. He also sought updates on vacancies in the medical department and directed that they be filled. Furthermore, he advocated for the development of necessary facilities and equipment in hospitals.
Promotion of organic farming and rural welfare: Shri Chowdhury directed the Agriculture Department to train farmers on organic farming techniques. He also called for the organization of fairs through Saras Dairy to train dairy producers in rural areas on new methods.
Suggestions from MLAs: MLA Osian, Mr. Bhairaram Choudhary, suggested connecting dykes under the Jal Jeevan Mission and relocating electricity poles that obstruct roads. MLA Shergarh, Shri Babu Singh Rathore, advocated for more work under MGNREGA and resolving electricity issues in rural areas. MLA Bilada, Shri Arjun Lal Garg, raised concerns about road patchwork, drinking water supply, Anganwadi centers, and school toilets. MLA Bhopalgarh, Smt. Geeta Barwad, highlighted the issues in her constituency.
After reviewing the progress and status of various public welfare schemes, the necessary instructions were given to improve speed and quality.
Present at the meeting were Jodhpur District Collector Mr. Gaurav Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dheeraj Kumar Singh, Jodhpur Development Authority Commissioner Mr. Yusha Chaudhary, and other senior officials.
