Recovery Of Left Behind Luggage/Articles Under “Operation Amanat”

Vide a press release dated 26/12/2024, the Eastern Railways have brought it to the notice of the larger sections of the society, that:
Vide, a series of successful recoveries over the past week, dedicated Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials have returned lost and left-behind items to their rightful owners across multiple locations in the region. Under the initiative “Operation Amanat,” RPF personnel have worked diligently to ensure that valuable and personal items, ranging from mobile phones to medical equipment, have been returned to the individuals who mistakenly left them behind on trains and railway premises.
- The operation began on 18th. December, 2024, with the recovery of a mobile phone, a jacket, and bags containing laptops, mobile phones, and personal items such as clothes and water bottles, worth Rs. 1,60,600/-. The RPF successfully retrieved these belongings from stations such as Howrah, Bamangachi, and Asansol
- Further, on 19th. December, 2024, an operation uncovered four mobile phones, a blanket, and eleven bags filled with laptops, mobile phones, clothes, grooming items, and a substantial amount of cash amounting to Rs. 19,500/-. These items, valued at Rs. 1,88,810/-, were recovered across stations like Howrah, Barddhaman, and Jasidih, and were returned to their rightful owners
- On 20th December, 2024, three mobile phones, a pair of ear buds, and several bags containing toys, clothes, perfume, and cash, valued at Rs. 67,360/-, were recovered from various stations including Howrah, Sealdah, and Asansol. The meticulous work of the RPF officers ensured the safe return of these items to their owners after thorough documentation.
- On the 21st December, 2024, the RPF successfully recovered two mobile phones, a flip-tap cartoon box, jackets, bike keys, and other personal belongings including cash and electronics, totaling a value of Rs. 1,54,572/-. These were recovered from locations such as Howrah, Shaktigarh, Bandel, and Asansol railway stations. The diligent efforts of the RPF ensured that these valuable items were safely returned to their owners
Through “Operation Amanat,” the RPF has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to safeguarding passenger belongings, ensuring a sense of security for all travelers, and instilling trust in the railway system. The initiative continues to highlight the dedication of RPF officials across Eastern Railway in maintaining the integrity of the services they provide.
