Mahtari Vandan Yojana: Monica becomes an example of women empowerment
Monica Rathore, a resident of village Karahi in Mungeli block of Mungeli district, has become an example of women empowerment. Monica is taking advantage of Mahtari Vandan Yojana and using that amount, she is giving a new direction to her business and is moving towards self-reliance. Monica told that she has a Suhag Bhandar shop, this is her only source of income. She gets a lot of help by getting one thousand rupees per month under Mahtari Vandan Yojana from the government. She has two sons. She has opened a bank account for her children by taking advantage of Mahtari Vandan Yojana, in which she deposits money every month keeping in mind the future of the children. She has thanked the government and administration including Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai for the scheme.
It is noteworthy that the state government has started the Mahtari Vandan Yojana to promote women empowerment and improve health and nutrition levels. Under this scheme, Rs 1,000 is transferred to the bank accounts of women every month. There is a wave of happiness among women due to the scheme. About 2 lakh 13 thousand women of Mungeli district are benefiting from this scheme. Under the scheme, the amount of 10 installments of Mahtari Vandan Yojana has been released.
It is worth noting that the said scheme was launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 10 March 2024. About 70 lakh beneficiary women of the state are being given financial assistance of one thousand rupees every month. From March to December, financial assistance of Rs 6530 crore 41 lakh has been given to the beneficiary women in 10 monthly installments.
