Lakhpati Didi Mrs. Divya Nishad will participate in the At Home Reception organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Republic Day

Lakhpati Didi Smt. Divya Nishad of village Kusmi of Rajnandgaon district will attend the At Home reception organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan New Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day on 26 January 2025 and President Smt. Draupadi Murmu will felicitate her. Lakhpati Didi Smt. Divya Nishad did not give up even in adverse and struggling conditions and has written a new chapter of success by joining Rashtriya Ajeevika Mission Bihaan. Expressing happiness, Smt. Divya Nishad said that it is an honour that she is getting the opportunity to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan as Lakhpati Didi. She said that she feels very good to know this and everyone at home is happy.

Lakhpati Didi Smt. Divya Nishad told that the financial condition of her family was not good and in the year 2021, her husband died suddenly due to COVID-19. She told that there was a situation of poverty and she did not have any kind of experience and knowledge. The grief of the sudden death of the husband shook the family to the core. At such a time, I got courage from the sisters of the group to take up the responsibility of my family and to raise my children and I decided to do some work.
 
    Lakhpati Didi Smt. Divya Nishad told that after joining the National Rural Livelihood Mission Bihaan, there was a change in my life and today my house is flourishing thanks to Bihaan. Being an introvert, joining Bihaan increased my confidence. I got to learn a lot during the training. She told that she started learning Bank Sakhi, Bank Mitra, book writing, work of the President and Secretary of the group and starting a small business. She told that she is associated with Jai Maa Ambe Self Help Group. While working in the group, her confidence increased and she started a small business by taking a loan through the group. She told that her annual income is more than 4 lakh rupees and she is doing multi-faceted work. Apart from Bank Sakhi, Bank Mitra, she has a shop of sari and readymade clothes for children in her village Bharregaon. She told that by taking loan from the group she has also started a grocery shop in her house. Now she has built her own concrete house. While joining livelihood based activities, she is doing sewing and other works.

It is noteworthy that 10 Lakhpati Didis have been selected from across the country for the At Home Reception organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan New Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day on 26 January 2025. Out of which Lakhpati Didi Smt. Divya Nishad has been selected from Rajnandgaon district. Lakhpati Didi Yojana of the Central Government is an important initiative. Under which work is being done to empower women economically. Under this scheme, women are given a loan of up to Rs 5 lakh without interest to start their own business.
