Create High-Speed Connectivity from Wadhwan to Nashik – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai : “Accelerate the development of ambitious infrastructure projects in the state. Specifically, create high-speed connectivity from Wadhwan to Nashik,” stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today.

The main goal of the state government is the overall development of Maharashtra, ensuring a balanced approach to infrastructure projects across rural and urban areas. Chief Minister Fadnavis emphasized that through government policies, equal development opportunities should be created in all regions of the state.

A high-level meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s War Room at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Fadnavis to review the ambitious infrastructure projects in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, various departments’ Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and senior officials involved in the projects were present. During the meeting, key infrastructure projects for the state’s development were reviewed, and deep discussions were held on accelerating their implementation, resulting in crucial decisions to speed up the execution of the projects.

The Wadhwan Port in Palghar district is vital for the growth of the country’s maritime trade, and the Chief Minister instructed the speeding up of necessary permits and land acquisition processes for its construction. This project is expected to boost Maharashtra’s industrial and export policies.

Further, to expand irrigation facilities in Vidarbha and Marathwada, the Chief Minister instructed that work orders be issued for the Wainganga-Nalganga river-link project by Monday. He also directed the urgent allocation of land for the Lower Pendi project, which will bring large areas under irrigation and enhance water resource management. Additionally, the Chief Minister called for fast-tracking land acquisition for the Wardha-Nanded railway line and the Wadhsa-Gadchiroli project. He instructed the proposal for the development plan of the Tuljapur temple to be sent for approval, and the water supply project in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, considering its increasing population and growing water scarcity, to be prioritized.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of completing surveys for the Virar-Alibaug multimodal corridor by next month, resolving issues related to the Jalna-Nanded evaluation, and presenting a proposal for the Mula-Mutha River conservation. Other directives included the swift redevelopment of BDD Chawl and the availability of the Worli Transit Building.

A total of 19 key projects, including metro, railways, highways, airports, ports, irrigation, water supply, sanitation, and tourism projects across Mumbai and the state, were reviewed. These projects include the Lower Padi Irrigation Scheme, Krishna-Koyna Lift Irrigation Project, Virar-Alibaug Multimodal Corridor, BDD Chawl Redevelopment Project, Bandra-Versova Sea Link, Thane Ring Metro, N.M. Joshi Marg, Naygaon, Pune Ring Road, Pune Metro-3, and Dharavi Redevelopment Project.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need to resolve administrative approvals, fund allocation, land acquisition, supplementary demands, and procedural bottlenecks to ensure the timely completion of these projects while maintaining transparency in their implementation.

In response to the growing traffic problems in Pune city and its suburbs, the Pune Ring Road project was highlighted as essential, and a decision was made to expedite its land acquisition process. This project will reduce traffic congestion, save time, and conserve fuel.

Additionally, the Tujlabhawani Temple beautification plan will enhance facilities for pilgrims and prove important for tourism. The Chief Minister also instructed the concerned departments to take necessary actions for the development of the Wadhwan to Nashik route and explore the feasibility of building a new airport at Wadhwan.

The Chief Minister also directed measures to address the needs of citizens.

CM Fadnavis gave clear instructions to aggressively tackle any delays in the implementation of projects. Any delay will hold the respective departments accountable, and prompt actions will be taken. The responsibility for each project will be clearly defined to ensure timely and effective completion. He further instructed that the concerned departments focus on completing projects within stipulated timelines, utilizing appropriate technology and resources.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that accelerating the state’s infrastructure projects will give a boost to Maharashtra’s economic and industrial development.
