Successful Trial Run Conducted on Sealdah-Esplanade Green Line Stretch

Vide a Press Release No. 2159, Metro Railways have brought it to the notice of all the aspiring commuters that:

The first trial run on the Sealdah – Esplanade stretch (2.63 kms) through West-Bound Tunnel of Green Line has been conducted successfully today i.e., 21.01.2025.

Mr. P. Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway and Chairman, Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited (KMRCL), along-with other senior officers of the Metro Railway and KMRCL were present in this trial run. General Manager was present in the Motorman’s Cab of the Trial Rake, MR 607 during this trial run which started at 11.20 hours from Sealdah Metro Station. The trial rake, MR 607 reached Esplanade Metro station at 11.31 hrs.

Shri Reddy congratulated al the personnel for this successful trial run. He also held a meeting with the officers of Metro Railway and KMRCL after the trial run at Esplanade Metro station. This stretch once operational would be a revolutionary step in providing a modern transport system to the people of Kolkata and suburbs to reach different parts of Kolkata and adjoining areas from Sealdah and Howrah.
