AAP Alleges Conspiracy to Kill Arvind Kejriwal, Demands Security Restoration
Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday accused the BJP-led Central Government and the Delhi Police of conspiring to “murder” its leader and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal. The party urged the Election Commission (EC) to reinstate the security cover previously provided to Kejriwal by the Punjab Police, which was recently withdrawn. The BJP and the Delhi Police have not yet responded to these allegations.
Addressing a press conference, Delhi Minister Atishi and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that Kejriwal’s life was in danger, citing alleged “murderous” attacks against him. They accused the Delhi Police, which operates under the Union Home Ministry, of ignoring these threats under the directive of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The AAP leaders said they have formally written to the Election Commission, seeking a clear justification for withdrawing Kejriwal’s Punjab Police security. They also demanded an audit of the alleged attacks and called for fair conditions for AAP in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for February 5.
The party expressed grave concern over Kejriwal’s safety and vowed to take all necessary steps to ensure his protection, calling the situation a deliberate threat to democracy.
