CM Yogi Adityanath Hoists National Flag on Republic Day, Extends Greetings to the People of Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hoisted the tricolor at his official residence on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day. Addressing the state, he extended his heartfelt greetings and highlighted the significance of the day, marking India’s transition into a sovereign, democratic republic with the implementation of its Constitution on January 26, 1950.

Reflecting on history, CM Yogi noted that India’s independence on August 15, 1947, was followed by the formation of a Constituent Assembly under the leadership of Dr. Rajendra Prasad. The monumental responsibility of drafting the Constitution was entrusted to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who presented the final draft on November 26, 1949, leading to its implementation on January 26, 1950.
75 Years of the Constitution: A Journey Towards Amrit Kaal
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Constitution provides inspiration for justice, equality, and fraternity, uniting the nation through diverse challenges. Marking 75 years of the Constitution, he paid homage to India’s great freedom fighters, including Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Dr. Rajendra Prasad. He acknowledged Dr. Ambedkar’s visionary leadership in creating an inclusive and progressive Constitution.

He remarked that this journey of 75 years connects the nation to Amrit Kaal and underscored the Constitution’s role in guiding justice and unity, fostering a prosperous and equitable society.
World’s Largest Democracy: A Proud Achievement
CM Yogi expressed pride in India being the world’s largest democracy, where universal suffrage was granted without discrimination from the outset. Contrasting this with other nations, he highlighted how many modern democracies initially excluded women and marginalized communities from voting rights, a disparity India overcame on day one of its republic.

He called upon citizens to fulfill their duties and align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India within the next 25 years. The CM also described welfare initiatives by the central and state governments as steps toward a “modern Ram Rajya,” benefiting millions of farmers, the poor, and the underprivileged.
The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations in Lucknow. On this occasion, the Director of Information, Shri Shishir Ji (IAS), hoisted the national flag.
