AAP’s Priyanka Kakkar Criticizes BJP Government Over Governance Failures

AAP national spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar has strongly criticized the central government, accusing it of failing to provide basic amenities such as electricity in BJP-ruled states. Speaking to ANI, Kakkar said, “The court has rejected all these false allegations. I think Amit Shah should be reminded that he governs 20 states. Why is it that none of these states have 24-hour electricity? Free electricity is an even bigger dream for them.”

Government Allegedly Ignoring Common People

Kakkar further alleged that the BJP-led government is neglecting the needs of the common people while prioritizing the wealthy. “I believe they have jeopardized the lives of the common people. In court, we saw that all facilities were reserved for VIPs, while there were no provisions for the ordinary citizens,” she said. She went on to claim that the government’s economic policies favor the rich, stating, “The entire treasury is directed towards benefiting the wealthy. In none of the 20 states ruled by the BJP do people receive essential facilities.”

She also accused the BJP of attempting to intimidate specific communities. “Even in Delhi, the BJP harasses Punjabis and insults Poorvanchalis,” Kakkar alleged, further intensifying her attack on the ruling party.

Congress Also Criticized for Aligning with BJP

Turning her attention to the Congress, Kakkar claimed that the party is working in tandem with the BJP to undermine AAP in the upcoming elections. “Everyone knows that in Delhi, Congress is doing everything to stay relevant. By collaborating with the BJP, they aim to defeat AAP,” she said. Kakkar warned voters that choosing Congress would ultimately benefit the BJP, stating, “Every vote cast for Congress directly supports BJP.”

She praised AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for implementing the ‘Delhi Model,’ which she claimed has led to the lowest inflation, lowest unemployment, highest per capita income, and a fiscally responsible budget.

Yamuna Water Dispute and Election Commission Notice

Meanwhile, the ongoing Yamuna water dispute has taken center stage in Delhi’s political landscape. AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, along with Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is set to meet the Election Commission of India (ECI) today regarding the issue.

The controversy erupted after the ECI issued a notice to Kejriwal, demanding proof for his claims that the Haryana government has “poisoned” Delhi’s water supply. The AAP chief has been vocal about his accusations, alleging that the BJP-ruled Haryana government is deliberately contaminating Yamuna’s water to create a crisis in the capital. The ECI has asked Kejriwal to present factual evidence by 11 AM today.

Political Stakes Ahead of Delhi Elections

Delhi is set to vote in a single phase on February 5, with the results to be declared on February 8. The stakes are high for AAP, which dominated the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections by winning 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP secured only eight. With the BJP and Congress under fire from AAP, the upcoming elections are expected to be a fierce battle over governance, accountability, and public welfare.
