Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, while addressing the Narmada Prakatotsav and Narmadapuram Gaurav Diwas celebrations in Narmadapuram, expressed the deep spiritual significance of Maa Narmada. He said that even gods long to visit this sacred land, where the entire region reflects the grandeur of Indra’s court. Such divine bliss, he remarked, is found only in the celestial realm. He emphasized that the blessings of Maa Narmada are always with the state, as Madhya Pradesh is the motherland of rivers, where Maa Narmada and many other holy rivers originate. He highlighted that both humans and deities consider it a privilege to spend time in this sacred land. Speaking about the district’s future, he assured that every effort will be made for its development. Narmadapuram will be transformed into a modern city, on par with Indore and Bhopal, ensuring growth and progress for the region.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that milk shops will be established across Madhya Pradesh while liquor shops will be phased out, reflecting the government’s commitment to social welfare. He also declared the establishment of an engineering college in Narmadapuram district to enhance higher education opportunities.

As part of the Narmada Prakatotsav celebrations, the Chief Minister performed a ritualistic worship of Maa Narmada from the water stage at Sethani Ghat, seeking blessings for the state’s prosperity. The event was inaugurated with the worship of a girl child, symbolizing purity and cultural heritage, with religious ceremonies conducted by Acharya Somesh Parsai, Gopal Prasad Khaddar, and Pandit Vinod Dubey. Dr. Yadav also presided over the foundation laying and inauguration of 30 development projects worth ₹104.72 crore, including Bhoomi Pujan for 24 projects valued at ₹29.96 crore and the inauguration of six completed projects worth ₹74.76 crore. To mark the occasion, 1.25 lakh flour-based lamps were lit at Sethani Ghat, creating a visually striking and spiritually uplifting atmosphere along the Narmada coastline.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Maa Narmada is a unique river, as devotees feel truly blessed by circumambulating it. He emphasized that 48 lakh hectares of land in the Malwa-Nimar and the entire Narmadachal region are irrigated by the Narmada’s waters, bringing prosperity to the area. He expressed gratitude that new opportunities for development have opened with the grace of Maa Narmada.He recalled that former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee had envisioned a nationwide river-linking project, and after 20 years, that vision is now becoming a reality. The Ken-Betwa river linking project will transform Bundelkhand, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi approving an allocation of ₹1 lakh crore for its implementation.Speaking about the Regional Industry Conclave held in Narmadapuram district, Dr. Yadav said the event is expected to bring ₹31,000 crore in investments to the Narmadapuram division, boosting industrial growth. He urged local residents to take advantage of emerging opportunities and avoid migration. He further emphasized that the ongoing industrialization efforts are aimed at securing a prosperous future for the next generation, with regional industry conclaves being organized across all divisions to drive economic progress.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Ladli Behna Yojana has transformed the lives of sisters. He said that on Wednesday, 5 February, he is distributing scooties to meritorious students and in future, laptops will also be given to the students. Apprising about Sanatan culture, the Chief Minister said that the culture of India is linked to religion. The Madhya Pradesh government will develop the place of Lord Shri Ram and Lord Shri Krishna as a pilgrimage site.

Narsinghpur Hoshangabad MP Shri Darshan Singh Chaudhary said that we all should serve Maa Narmada. The Chief Minister has already given us the gift of Narmada Lok. Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Maya Narolia said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has given many gifts to Madhya Pradesh. Narmadapuram MLA Dr. Sitasaran Sharma said that an amount of Rs 20 crore has been received for the first phase of Narmada Lok. He demanded an amount of Rs 30 crore for the second phase and the gift of an engineering college. Earlier, Municipal Council President Smt. Neetu Mahendra Yadav said that the Narmada Prakatotsav program is a program celebrated all over the world. On this occasion, Seoni-Malwa MLA Shri Premshankar Verma, Sohagpur MLA Shri Vijaypal Singh, Pipariya MLA Shri Thakurdas Nagvanshi, Smt. Preeti Pawan Shukla along with public representatives and eminent citizens were present.

Chief Minister reached Water Stage via waterway

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav on the evening of Narmada Prakatotsav, reached the built at the main event venue Sethani Ghat through waterways from the Circuit House Ghat. As soon as Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reached the water stage, the crowd of people present there filled the sky with the chants of Har Har Narmade, Narmade Har.

Worship Conducted as per Traditional Rituals

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav duly worshipped Maa Narmada amidst chanting of Vedic mantras on the attractive water stage constructed on the banks of Narmada. He also performed the Maha Aarti of Maa Narmada.

Colourful cultural programmes dominate the Narmada coast

On the occasion of Narmada Prakatotsav and Narmadapuram’s Gaurav Diwas, cultural programs were presented by renowned artists on Tuesday. Misha Sharma and her group performed a melodious rendition of Nimari folk songs at Sethani Ghat, captivating the audience. Later in the night, Kashish Sheetlani from Ujjain and her team depicted the story of Narmada through a beautifully choreographed dance drama, which was highly appreciated by the spectators. Following this, Vikas Sirmoliya and his group from Bhopal delivered a soul-stirring performance of devotional songs, adding a spiritual touch to the celebrations.

Beautification of major places and intersections, lamps lit in homes

On the occasion of Narmada Prakatotsav, a cleanliness drive was carried out in the city for the last several days. Special beautification work has been done on all the ghats and many intersections and places. Lighting was done at the ghats and various places. The city dwellers celebrated the Narmada Prakatotsav by lighting lamps in their homes.
