Deputy Chief Minister Inaugurates Shivrinarayan Festival, Dedicates Atal Complex

Raipur : Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao inaugurated the Shivrinarayan Festival today in Shivrinayayan, the city of Mata Shabari. The festival, held at Mahant Lal Das Mahavidyalaya Ground in Janjgir-Champa district, will take place from February 23 to February 26, featuring various cultural events daily. MP Smt. Kamlesh Jangde and MLA Smt. Sheshraj Harbansh were also present at the inauguration ceremony. Additionally, the Deputy Chief Minister unveiled a statue of Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and dedicated the newly constructed Atal Complex at Pratiksha Bus Stand in Shivrinayan Nagar Panchayat.

Speaking as the chief guest, Shri Arun Sao, who also serves as the Minister for Urban Administration and Development, emphasized the historical and cultural significance of the Shivrinayayan fair, situated at the Triveni Sangam (confluence of three rivers). He highlighted that Shivrinayayan has been renowned since ancient times, with its fair attracting devotees from across Chhattisgarh and other states. Calling it a sacred pilgrimage site, he described Shivrinayayan as a center of faith and devotion.

Shri Arun Sao further stated that Chhattisgarh has a glorious cultural and civilizational heritage, deeply rooted in religion, spirituality, and mythology. He noted that Shivrinayayan holds a special place as one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in Chhattisgarh, with the Magh Purnima fair being particularly famous.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including former Deputy Speaker of Chhattisgarh Assembly Shri Narayan Chandel, former MLAs Shri Ambesh Jangde and Shri Chunnilal Sahu, Collector Shri Aakash Chikara, Superintendent of Police Shri Vivek Shukla, along with a large number of public representatives and prominent citizens.
