CM Vishnu Deo Sai Attends Closing Ceremony of All India Gold Cup Football Tournament

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the closing ceremony of the Swargiya Dilip Singh Judev Memorial All India Gold Cup Football Tournament in Jashpur. The tournament, held at Ranjita Stadium from February 8 to February 23, 2025, witnessed participation from top national-level football teams from 16 states.

During his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to promoting sports and supporting athletes. He announced cash rewards of ₹3 crore for Olympic gold medalists, ₹2 crore for silver medalists, and ₹1 crore for bronze medalists, highlighting Chhattisgarh’s growing emergence as a sports hub. Additionally, he declared the renovation of Ranjita Stadium, upgrading it to meet international standards.

In the final match, Railway Nagpur and MEG Bengaluru competed in a thrilling encounter. Chief Minister Shri Sai enjoyed the match and congratulated the winning team. He praised the organizing committee for a successful event and assured greater support for such tournaments in the future. The return of national-level football to Ranjita Stadium after several years was an exhilarating experience for sports enthusiasts, drawing massive crowds from nearby towns and villages.

The event was attended by Jashpur MLA Smt. Raymuni Bhagat, Vice President of the Surguja Tribal Development Authority & Pathalgaon MLA Smt. Gomti Sai, Municipality President Shri Arvind Bhagat, newly elected councilors, Shri Yash Pratap Singh Judev, Shri Shaurya Pratap Singh Judev, Smt. Shanti Bhagat, Councilor Faizan Sarwar, Om Prakash, Naresh Nande, along with a large gathering of public representatives, athletes, coaches, and sports lovers.
