Mahakumbh Nagar : The grand and divine Mahakumbh, organized in the sacred city of Tirtharaj Prayagraj since January 13, has etched its name in history. On the final bathing festival of Maha Shivratri, this unparalleled spiritual gathering crossed the 65-crore mark, making it the largest congregation ever witnessed in the world. By 8 AM on Mahashivratri, lakhs of devotees had taken a holy dip, setting an extraordinary record that stands unmatched in scale and devotion.

No other historical event has drawn such a massive gathering in such a short span. In just 45 days, Prayagraj hosted more devotees than the total population of several countries combined. The number of participants was more than twice that of the United States, over two and a half times Pakistan’s population, and four times that of Russia. It surpassed Japan’s population fivefold, was over ten times that of the UK, and fifteen times that of France.
More than 65 crore devotees have come together to take the sacred dip at Triveni Sangam, showcasing an unparalleled example of religious and cultural unity.

This ancient tradition of India has mesmerized the world with its spiritual grandeur. The seamless organization of this mega event has been made possible by the visionary leadership and meticulous planning of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The sheer scale of participation is staggering. Compared with India’s total population, nearly 50% of the country has dipped in the Triveni Sangam. Among followers of Sanatan Dharma, this accounts for over 60% of India’s Sanatani population and about 55% worldwide.
The Mahakumbh drew devotees from every corner of the globe, with diplomats from 73 countries and guests, including Bhutan’s King Jigme Namgyel Wangchuk. More than 50 lakh devotees from Nepal, the land of Mata Janaki’s maternal home, also participated. Pilgrims from Italy, France, the UK, Portugal, the USA, Israel, Iran, Mauritius, and numerous other nations arrived to witness this unparalleled spiritual event.

CM Yogi Adityanath had predicted that this Mahakumbh would set a new benchmark in terms of participation. Initially estimating 45 crore devotees, the numbers surged past expectations. On February 11, the 45-crore mark was crossed, reaching 60 crore by February 22.
Finally, on Maha Shivratri, the Mahakumbh set an unprecedented record, surpassing 65 crore devotees, reaffirming the unshakable faith and devotion towards Sanatan Dharma.
This Mahakumbh has reinforced India’s spiritual and cultural identity and set a milestone that will be remembered for generations.
