Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) Inaugurates Indo Pacific GeoIntelligence Forum 2025

Aizawl : Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) today inaugurated the 15th edition of the Indo Pacific GeoIntelligence Forum 2025, organized by Geospatial World, at Hotel Vivanta, Dwarka, New Delhi.

In his address, Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh highlighted the Indo-Pacific region as not only an emerging hub for global economic and trade expansion but also a crucial area for national security. He emphasized the importance of geospatial technology and GeoIntelligence in enhancing security and providing critical data for strategic decision-making.

The Governor further described the Indo-Pacific region as a significant geopolitical and economic zone, home to the largest global population and vast land and maritime resources. He stressed the need to integrate advanced next-generation GeoIntelligence solutions such as AI, Machine Learning, Spatial Computing, and other technologies to effectively tackle emerging security challenges. He also called for collaborative efforts to ensure long-term stability and strategic preparedness in the region.

During the inauguration, Lt Gen AKS Chandele, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), President – Defence, Internal Security & Public Safety, Geospatial World, delivered a welcome address. Keynote speeches were also given by:

  • Lt Gen Vinod G Khandare, PVSM, AVSM, SM, Principal Advisor, Ministry of Defence
  • Adam Reedy, International Government Sales Manager, Esri
  • Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, AVSM, VSM, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, Indian Navy

The event concluded with remarks from Sanjay Kumar, Founder & CEO of Geospatial World, followed by the official inauguration of the exhibition by the Governor.

The Indo Pacific GeoIntelligence Forum serves as a platform for discussions on advanced defence capabilities, addressing challenges related to population shifts, climate change, and evolving security threats. This year’s theme, “NextGen Sovereign GeoIntelligence Assets for Regional Security”, focuses on integrating cutting-edge defence technologies. The forum will continue until tomorrow, featuring expert sessions and presentations from top defence and security professionals.
