Chief Minister Reviews Development Plans – Commitment to Heritage Preservation Alongside Progress

Government Dedicated to Developing Religious and Historical Sites in Rajasthan: CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that cultural, religious, and historical sites are integral parts of Rajasthan’s ancient heritage. The state government is fully committed to the preservation and development of this glorious legacy. He highlighted Rajasthan’s vast potential for religious and cultural tourism, stating that protecting sacred sites can boost tourism and generate employment opportunities on a large scale.

On Tuesday, CM Sharma conducted a review meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence, assessing the development works of various religious, cultural, and historical sites in the state. He reiterated that heritage preservation, along with progress, remains a key goal and that the government is actively working on developing pilgrimage centers. Efforts are underway to renovate temples across Rajasthan and promote religious tourism. He stressed the importance of introducing younger generations to the state’s glorious historical, cultural, and religious legacy, suggesting that school students be taken on regular trips to renowned monuments and heritage sites.

Development of Braj 84-Kos Circuit and Religious Sites

The Chief Minister stated that the government had pledged to develop the Braj 84-Kos Circuit as a spiritual tourism destination. To achieve this, tourism facilities along the Braj Parikrama route are being enhanced. He instructed officials to expedite the development of key pilgrimage sites such as Poonchari Ka Lotha and Deeg. He also directed the swift completion of all necessary procedures for the construction of Sri Gokul Jat Panorama, Raja Khemkaran Panorama, Dev Baba Panorama, and Govind Swami Panorama.

CM Sharma also emphasized the development of the Tanot Mata Temple in Jaisalmer, ensuring better accommodation facilities for visiting devotees. He directed officials to improve connectivity and tourism infrastructure at Girduwala, Kuldhara village, and Longewala, linking them effectively with Jaisalmer and Tanot.

Sambhar Lake to be Developed Like Gujarat’s Rann Region

The Chief Minister noted that Sambhar Lake, near Jaipur, has the potential to become a major tourist destination similar to Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch. He pointed out that the Sambhar Festival attracts numerous domestic and international tourists, urging officials to enhance tourism amenities and widely promote the site.

Restoration of Temples Outside Rajasthan

CM Sharma also referred to a recent Cabinet meeting in Prayagraj, where the government decided to restore temples located outside Rajasthan. He directed the Devasthan Department to conduct a survey to identify and document the exact number of such temples for proper listing and restoration efforts.

The meeting was attended by Shri Onkar Singh Lakhawat, Chairman of Rajasthan Heritage Authority, Shri Shikhar Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary, CMO, Shri Praveen Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, PWD, Dr. Krishna Kant Pathak, Secretary, Devasthan Department, Shri Ravi Jain, Secretary, Tourism Department, and other senior officials. Additionally, District Collectors of Jaisalmer, Bharatpur, and Deeg participated via video conferencing.
