CM Vishnu Deo Sai Honors Women Journalists, Emphasizes Women’s Empowerment

Raipur | On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a grand and dignified event, ‘Mahataari Vandan Abhinandan’, was organized at the Chief Minister’s residence in Raipur. During the event, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai honored women journalists for their remarkable contributions to journalism and reiterated the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment.

In his address, CM Sai emphasized that women are the strong foundation of society, and the Chhattisgarh government is making continuous efforts to empower them economically and socially. He stated that women are excelling in every field, and the government is ensuring equal rights and security for them. He reaffirmed his commitment to realizing the vision of ‘Mahataari Vandan’, recognizing the crucial role of women in family, society, and the country’s economic, social, and political progress.

Acknowledging the Contribution of Women Journalists

CM Vishnu Deo Sai lauded the pivotal role of women journalists in spreading awareness and becoming the voice of the people. He highlighted their dedication, courage, and unbiased reporting, which have contributed to positive societal change. He stated that women journalists have not only safeguarded people’s rights but also brought attention to issues that often go unheard. While honoring them, he praised their work as inspirational and encouraged them to continue raising their voices for truth and justice.

Government’s Focus on Women’s Safety & Welfare

During the event, CM Sai reaffirmed that women’s safety remains a top priority for the government. He mentioned several initiatives, including:

  • Dedicated women’s police stations
  • Helpline services for women in distress
  • Hostels for working women

The state budget has made special provisions for these initiatives to enhance women’s safety and accessibility. Additionally, CM Sai elaborated on various aspects of the ‘Mahataari Vandan’ scheme, which aims to financially empower women, particularly in rural areas.

Honoring 60+ Women Journalists

CM Sai honored over 60 distinguished women journalists, including:
Rashmi Drolia, Jyoti Singh, Madhumita Pal, Sarita Dubey, Nisha Dwivedi, Nidhi Prasad, Shagufta Shireen, Chitra Patel, Karishma Soni, Aftab Begum, Khushboo Thakre, Tanu Verma, Akanksha Tiwari, Akanksha Dubey, Rasika Pandey, among others.

He emphasized that women’s active participation in journalism strengthens democracy. He also provided insights into various government schemes designed to support women’s economic and social empowerment. The government is working towards expanding skill development programs, self-employment opportunities, and financial assistance schemes to ensure women’s self-reliance and economic independence.

Support Materials & Commemorative Gifts

To help women benefit from government schemes, booklets, brochures, and publications detailing available programs were distributed.
As a token of appreciation, shawls, mementos, and designer bags were presented to women journalists and distinguished guests.

CM Sai remarked that this honor is not just recognition of their contributions but also a motivation for them to continue making a difference. He reassured that the government is committed to implementing new initiatives that further empower women financially and socially.

CM Sai encouraged women to be aware of their rights and make the most of government programs.
