Colors of Progress: Sarojini Nagar’s Holi shines brighter with development initiatives: CM Yogi

Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the ‘3 Years of Excellence, Sarojini Nagar Gratitude Day’ event organized by MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Law University on Monday. During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects and explored the Sarojini Nagar Samvad and Development Exhibition. Sikh families from Sarojini Nagar also presented him with prasad from Kartarpur Sahib.

Highlighting the festive spirit, CM Yogi remarked that combining vibrant colours and development initiatives has made Holi in Sarojini Nagar even more joyful. He noted that the occasion coincided with Rangbhari Ekadashi, with temples celebrating by playing Holi with idols of deities.

The Chief Minister announced that projects worth Rs 32,000 crore have either been completed or are in progress. He said, “Among these, a Rs 1,200 crore convention center with a seating capacity of 10,000 people is set to be constructed. The constituency will also house a defence corridor, Uttar Pradesh’s first forensic institute, and a medical facility comparable to SGPGI.”

Expressing appreciation for MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh’s dedication, CM Yogi said, “I’m impressed by the ground-level efforts to uplift the region.”

He emphasized that such commitment is the essence of democracy. Congratulating the people of Sarojini Nagar, he recalled that Dr. Rajeshwar Singh was elected MLA on this day three years ago, and since then, the region has witnessed remarkable progress.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that a public representative with dedication and compassion can achieve remarkable results. He stressed that selflessness and a commitment to public welfare are essential for meaningful change.

The CM shared that during a cabinet meeting earlier in the day, discussions were held about marking the government’s eighth anniversary on March 25 with exhibitions in every district. While the model for these exhibitions is yet to be finalized, he appreciated the glimpse of such a model at the event.

He proposed that similar exhibitions showcasing development schemes should be organized in every assembly constituency. These exhibitions, he suggested, should engage the public directly and transparently demonstrate the benefits of various schemes to reflect the true essence of democracy.

Regarding MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh, CM Yogi highlighted his seamless transition from a bureaucrat and ED officer to a dedicated public servant. He praised Dr Singh’s assertive communication with the public, effective coordination with the organization and government, and innovative efforts in implementing government and CSR schemes.

The CM asserted that every capable and committed public representative should follow this example, as it fosters public trust and strengthens democracy. He emphasized that a robust democracy ensures that the voices of the common people are heard and justice is served.

Highlighting the transformation of Sarojini Nagar, CM Yogi outlined the ongoing and upcoming development projects in the area, including state-of-the-art highways, metro expansion, and airport facilities. He added, “The constituency is also being recognized as a hub for the Defense Corridor, Aerospace City, and AI City, with an AI-based data center set to be inaugurated in July.”

Taking a swipe at those promoting caste-based politics, CM Yogi cited the Prayagraj Mahakumbh as a powerful example of unity, where 66.30 crore devotees from across the country and the world gathered without discrimination.

He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’, highlighting it as a path forward for a united and prosperous nation.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the government’s commitment to eradicating poverty and empowering people to live self-reliant lives. He stated, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continuous efforts are being made to uplift every section of society.”

The CM also underscored the message of unity from the Mahakumbh, asserting that only a united India can ensure security, comprehensive development, and prosperity. He said, “By spreading this message of unity to every home and village, India can progress towards becoming a developed nation and a guiding force for the world.”

Praising MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh’s efforts, CM Yogi highlighted various welfare initiatives in Sarojini Nagar, including the distribution of sewing machines to women, job placements for youth through skill development centres, and the provision of bicycles, computer tablets, and sports kits to meritorious students through sports youth clubs.

He congratulated the people of Sarojini Nagar for choosing a capable representative in Dr Singh and extended his Holi greetings, describing it as a festival of unity and harmony.

He urged that the spirit of the Mahakumbh should be spread to every home, colored with the hues of Holi.

Sarojini Nagar MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh welcomed the guests. On this occasion, Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, former Union Minister Kaushal Kishore, former MP Reena Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor Prof. Amarpal Singh, BJP District President Vinay Pratap Singh, Mahanagar President Anand Dwivedi etc. were present.

During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for numerous development projects in Sarojini Nagar. He presented tablets to five meritorious students — Anushka, Harsh Maurya, Preeti Singh, Mallika Arora, and Krishna Sahu — and distributed 25 bicycles to other deserving students.

Additionally, libraries were provided to five RWAs, sports kits were provided to five youth clubs, and smart class panels were provided to 15 schools and colleges. The CM also inaugurated open gyms in five parks, presented a trophy to the winning team of the Sarojini Sports League, and launched the 11th Ran Bahadur Singh Digital Education and Empowerment Center.

The development initiatives further included the renovation of 25 temples, the inauguration of statues of Lord Parshuram and the late Kalyan Singh, and various projects at old age homes, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to uplift the region’s infrastructure and welfare standards.
