CM Devendra Fadnavis Meets PM Narendra Modi
Positive Discussions on Gadchiroli Mining Hub, Nagpur Airport, and Finance Commission Funds for Local Bodies
New Delhi : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss various key issues concerning the state.
Highlighting Maharashtra’s efforts in the steel sector, Fadnavis stated that Gadchiroli is emerging as the country’s Steel City. He urged the central government’s support in developing Gadchiroli as a mining hub. Discussions also covered the expedited development of Nagpur Airport, with the Chief Minister seeking resolution of pending central government-related issues, ensuring smoother progress. Additionally, he requested the timely release of funds from the 15th Finance Commission for local self-government bodies. PM Modi responded positively to all these matters.
During the meeting, CM Fadnavis expressed his gratitude to PM Modi for granting Maharashtra the opportunity to host the World Audio, Visual, and Entertainment Summit from May 1 to 4 in Mumbai. He also thanked the central government for funding the establishment of the Indian Institute of Creative Technology (IICT), modeled after IIT, in Mumbai, which will further boost the creative technology sector in the country.
