Eastern Railways Strengthens Zero Tolerance Safety Measures across different spheres of Railway Travel.

In a proactive effort to enhance passenger safety and ensure smooth train operations during the upcoming summer months, Malda Division of Eastern Railway has intensified its fire prevention measures along railway tracks, since dry grass and vegetation increase the risk of trackside fires.

Under the directive of the General Manager, Eastern Railway, and under the leadership of the Divisional Railway Manager, Malda, large-scale clearance operations are being carried out in vulnerable sections, including Bhagalpur and Jamalpur. Railway teams, equipped with both manual and mechanized tools, are actively engaged in removing dry vegetation and jungle growth along railway tracks. Regular inspections and awareness campaigns are being conducted among railway staff and local residents near railway premises. Additionally, patrolling and monitoring of railway tracks have been intensified to detect and mitigate potential fire hazards. Close coordination with local authorities and fire departments ensures a swift response to any emergencies.

Passengers and the public are urged to cooperate by refraining from activities that could cause accidental fires, such as discarding burning cigarette butts, lighting fires near railway tracks, or improper waste disposal. The Railway Administration also appeals to local communities to support cleanliness and safety initiatives to prevent fire-related disruptions. Malda Division remains committed to maintaining a safe and secure railway environment, ensuring seamless train operations and a comfortable travel experience, and these initiatives reinforces their dedication to safety, efficiency, and public welfare. The Railway Administration seeks the cooperation of the public in keeping railway premises clean and fire free.
