Prepaid Auto Rickshaw Service to Start at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport from June 1 – Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik

Review of Bus Stand Operations in Nashik and Sindhudurg Districts

Mumbai : Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has directed the transport department and representatives of the Adani Group to launch a prepaid auto-rickshaw service at Terminals T-1 and T-2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport from June 1, 2025.

During a meeting at Vidhan Bhavan, Minister Sarnaik reviewed the implementation of the prepaid rickshaw service at the airport and discussed the operational status of bus stands in Nashik and Sindhudurg districts. Present at the meeting were Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane, MLA Devyani Pharande, former Minister Gajanan Kirtikar, Transport Commissioner and Acting Vice Chairman & Managing Director of ST Corporation Vivek Bhimanwar, along with officials from the ST Corporation in Nashik and Sindhudurg districts.

Minister Sarnaik stated that since the airport is managed by the Adani Group, necessary infrastructure should be developed in coordination with the transport department within the next two months to facilitate the launch of the prepaid rickshaw service. This initiative aims to enhance convenience for passengers, and the Adani Group, in collaboration with the transport department, must take the necessary steps to commence the service from June 1.

Mini Buses to Be Introduced for Strengthening Sindhudurg ST Services

Fisheries Minister Nitesh Rane highlighted that Sindhudurg is a hilly and remote district where ST buses serve as the primary mode of transportation. To ensure uninterrupted services and avoid inconvenience to passengers, the government plans to introduce mini buses for the district in the near future. Transport Minister Sarnaik responded positively to this request. The meeting also addressed various challenges faced by bus depots and ST services in Sindhudurg.

Nashik’s Mela Bus Stand to Be Fully Functional Within a Month

MLA Devyani Pharande submitted a memorandum regarding issues related to ST Corporation services in Nashik city. Minister Sarnaik instructed officials to ensure cleanliness at the bus stations, improve sanitation facilities, and resolve all issues at the newly built Mela Bus Stand within a month. He also stated that the government would consider utilizing Simhastha funds for the development of the highway bus station and assured a positive resolution of concerns related to the Mela Bus Stand.
