Inauguration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Temple (Shaktipeeth) at Shivkshetra Marade Pada, Bhiwandi

Thane : Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who dedicated his entire life to the service of God, the nation, and religion, is revered as a deity by all. The construction of a temple in his honor is a matter of immense pride and serves as a great source of inspiration. Every devotee visiting this temple will undoubtedly feel inspired, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

CM Fadnavis inaugurated the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Temple (Shaktipeeth) at Shivkshetra Marade Pada, Bhiwandi Taluka. The event was graced by Swami Govind Devgiri Ji Maharaj, P. P. Balyogi Sadanand Baba, H. B. P. Dr. Kailas Maharaj Nichite, Rashtrasant Neelkanth Shivacharya, P. P. Aloknath Maharaj, MP Suresh Mhatre (Balya Mama), former Union Minister Kapil Patil, MLAs Kisan Kathore, Daulat Daroda, Niranjan Davkhare, Mahesh Choughule, Shivkranti Pratishthan Founder-President Raju Chaudhary, and other dignitaries including government officials.

CM Fadnavis praised Kailas Nichite and Raju Chaudhary for their efforts in conceptualizing and constructing the grand temple. He stated that it is because of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy that we can visit temples freely today. This magnificent temple is beautifully designed with a strong fortification, well-structured bastions, an impressive entrance, and a scenic garden. The temple also narrates historical moments from Shivaji Maharaj’s birth, his coronation, and the journey of Sambhaji Maharaj, ensuring that visitors leave with deep inspiration.

Shivaji Maharaj was shaped by Jijabai’s values and blessings, which guided him in resisting the Mughal forces. Despite the might of the Mughal army, he empowered common people to rise and hoist the saffron flag. As we celebrate the 300th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, CM Fadnavis called upon everyone to contribute towards nation-building in his honor.

Government’s Efforts to Honor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

CM Fadnavis announced ongoing efforts to register 12 forts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Additionally, a memorial for Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj will be constructed at Sangameshwar, with funds already allocated in the state budget. The battle of Panipat and Mahadji Shinde’s valor are widely recognized, and plans are underway to build a grand memorial at Panipat to honor these historic events.

The newly inaugurated Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shaktipeeth temple will soon be given the status of a pilgrimage site. Additionally, the Bhiwandi-Wada road is under development, and the Public Works Department has been instructed to improve all approach roads to the temple and provide necessary facilities for devotees. CM Fadnavis assured that funding will not be an issue for these projects.

At the inauguration event, MP Suresh Mhatre (Balya Mama), former Union Minister Kapil Patil, and MLA Kisan Kathore also shared their thoughts on the significance of the temple and its impact on the region.
