Review Meeting on Rajasthan Day Celebrations: Welfare of the Poor, Youth, Farmers, and Women a Priority – CM Bhajanlal Sharma
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that the welfare of the poor, youth, farmers, and women remains the top priority of the state government. He announced that Rajasthan Day (March 30, 2025 – Chaitra Shukla Pratipada) will be celebrated on a grand scale for an entire week, with special initiatives dedicated to these groups. The celebrations will include public welfare programs, an investment festival, cultural events, and the inauguration and foundation stone laying of development projects worth approximately ₹5,000 crore.
Chairing a review meeting at the CM’s residence, he directed all departments to finalize the schedule and preparations for the events.
Employment Festival & Youth Empowerment Initiatives
CM Sharma announced that a Rajasthan Employment Festival will be held, where appointment letters for government jobs will be distributed, and job fairs will be organized at district headquarters. In line with the budget announcements, the State Skill Policy and Youth Policy will also be launched. Additionally, the government will roll out Vishwakarma Yuva Udyami Protsahan Yojana and the CM Educated Rajasthan Campaign.
Direct Benefit Transfers for Farmers & Women
The government will support farmers through subsidies and grants under various schemes, along with FPO (Farmer Producer Organization) fairs. For women’s empowerment, financial assistance will be provided under the Lado Protsahan Yojana and to self-help groups. Women beneficiaries will also receive induction cooktops, scooties under the Kalibai Bhil Scheme, and scholarship approval letters under the Vivekananda Scholarship Scheme.
Priority to Marginalized Communities
CM Sharma reiterated that the government is committed to uplifting marginalized communities. The budget includes the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Garib Mukti Gram Yojana and the Dadudayal Nomadic Empowerment Scheme. Further benefits include DBT transfers for construction workers, dairy booth allotments, land rights under the Swamitva Scheme, and distribution of electric pottery wheels. Guidelines for various welfare schemes will also be issued during the celebrations.
Investment Festival & Economic Development
The state government is working in mission mode to implement MoUs signed under the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit. The first quarterly milestone will see the groundbreaking of ₹3 lakh crore worth of projects. A mobile app for monitoring investment proposals will also be launched to facilitate investor support.
As part of the Rajasthan Day celebrations, ₹5,000 crore worth of development projects will be inaugurated or initiated, alongside cultural programs in every district.
Historical Significance of Rajasthan Day
During a recent assembly discussion on the Finance and Appropriation Bill, CM Sharma recalled Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s speech on March 30, 1949 (Vikram Samvat 2006), when Rajasthan was unified. He reaffirmed that Rajasthan Day will be celebrated in accordance with Indian traditions and values.
