Investment Summit in Nagpur Region Secures ₹6,000 Crore MoUs
- 152 industries to generate 6,756 jobs
- Single-window system to provide all facilities to entrepreneurs
Nagpur : To ensure the smooth transition of investment agreements into actual industrial development, special attention is being given at the district and regional levels to address the challenges faced by entrepreneurs. Regional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari has urged businesses to invest heavily in the region.
The Investment Summit 2025, organized by the Office of the Joint Director of Industries, was held at the Planning Bhavan auditorium. During the event, 152 entrepreneurs signed MoUs worth ₹6,100 crore in the presence of Vijayalakshmi Bidari. While addressing the gathering, she emphasized the importance of creating a business-friendly environment.
The summit saw the presence of notable industry leaders, including Joint Director of Industries Gajendra Bharti, Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Jhulpes Shah, Hingna MIDC Association President P. Mohan, Butibori MIDC Association President Dr. Kishor Malaviya, MAITRI Coordination Officer Bhaskar Morade, SIDBI Assistant General Manager Santoshrao More, MIDC Regional Officer Manohar Pote, District Industries Centre General Manager S.S. Muddemwar, along with a large number of entrepreneurs and investors.
During the summit, significant investment commitments were made across various sectors. Exlopack India Limited, a high-tech paper and packaging company, announced an investment of ₹950 crore in Gondia, while the paper industry saw an additional ₹225 crore investment from Shashank Mishra. In Butibori, Inventis Research committed ₹700 crore towards pharmaceuticals and chemical manufacturing. The hospitality sector also saw major investments, with ₹400 crore from Taj Gateway (PD Properties), ₹300 crore from Hyatt Hotel (Rachna Properties), ₹131.3 crore from Fair Value Hospitality, and ₹175 crore from Hilton Hotels. Additionally, ₹100 crore was pledged by Vithoba Group. In total, 125 entrepreneurs signed MoUs worth ₹6,100 crore during the summit.
The Maharashtra government has been continuously working to create a conducive environment for industrial investment while ensuring ease of doing business. At the World Economic Forum in Davos, investment agreements worth ₹15.6 lakh crore were signed for Maharashtra. To attract district-level investors, the government is providing red-carpet treatment and prioritizing necessary facilities, stated Vijayalakshmi Bidari.
The investment summit highlighted growing interest in the tourism and industrial sectors. Gadchiroli is emerging as a steel hub, attracting significant investment.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has prioritized resolving entrepreneurs’ concerns under the 100-Day Special Action Plan, ensuring that district collectors and regional commissioners conduct reviews and provide solutions.
In his welcome address, Joint Director of Industries Gajendra Bharti noted that ₹7 lakh crore worth of agreements were signed for Vidarbha at the Davos Summit, with ₹1.06 lakh crore allocated for Nagpur district alone. Efforts are being made to boost investments in small and medium enterprises (SMEs), with a favorable business climate in industrial, tourism, IT, logistics, and service sectors. The government has improved transparency in business processes and implemented the MAITRI Law, enabling entrepreneurs to access all required facilities via the MAITRI Portal’s single-window system.
After signing the MoUs, 80-90% of entrepreneurs have already begun setting up industries. Nagpur’s strategic location as a transportation and logistics hub makes it an attractive destination for businesses. During the event, Shashank Mishra of Exlopack India Limited and Dr. Deepak Birewar of Inventis Research highlighted the availability of skilled manpower in the region.
