Deputy CM Arun Saw Inaugurates Mahatari Sewing Center
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Urban Administration and Development, Shri Arun Saw, today inaugurated the Mahatari Sewing Center in Chhangoabhatha, Raipur. This center, operated by the Raipur Municipal Corporation, will provide sewing training to women, empowering them to start their own self-employment after completing the course.
Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Arun Saw emphasized that this initiative aims to empower and make women self-reliant. He added that the women trained here will fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of an “Atmanirbhar Bharat.” Shri Saw also expressed his intention to establish such sewing centers not only in Raipur but across the entire state.
Shri Saw praised the National Urban Livelihoods Mission team for their excellent setup of the training program, suggesting that this center should be developed as a model for similar initiatives in other cities.
Mayor Mrs. Meenal Choubey shared that the idea for the sewing center came up during a cultural event when women expressed their desire to learn sewing but were unable to afford sewing machines. She thanked Deputy CM for fulfilling the promise and establishing the center.
The program was also attended by State Minority Commission President Shri Amarjeet Chhabra, Raipur Municipal Corporation Chairman Shri Suryakant Rathore, Commissioner Shri Vishwadeep, MIC members, councillors, and prominent citizens.
