Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) flags off AHRR Delhi Soldierathon 2025

Aizawl : Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) this morning graced the flag-off ceremony of AHRR Delhi Soldierathon 2025, as the Chief Guest and flagged off around 4,000 participants at Army Hospital Research & Referral in Delhi. The event hosted by ‘Fitistan – Ek Fit Bharat’ supports the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Center, Kirkee, Pune dedicated to the treatment, recovery and rehabilitation of injured soldiers.

In his address, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd) stated that efforts were being made to ensure maximum participation in Soldierathon and that such events allow civilians to run alongside soldiers, promoting physical fitness and encouraging a sense of unity and purpose. He further stated that it was also to inspire people to cultivate the habit of running and mentioned that around 4,000 people registered for the event.

Soldierathon aims to honor the country’s martyrs and wounded warriors. It also aims to create a positive and enabling environment in the country and raise awareness among the younger generation about the value of the sacrifices made by our bravehearts. The event also seeks to instill a sense of pride in the hearts of citizens for the soldiers who work tirelessly and selflessly for 24×7 to defend and maintain the nation’s security, integrity, unity and sovereignty.
