Lucknow : Aiming to position Uttar Pradesh as a leading state, the Yogi government is upgrading religious tourism hubs with world-class facilities. In line with this vision, Ayodhya—revered as Lord Ram’s capital and one of Sanatan Dharma’s seven sacred cities—will soon feature enhanced amenities, with six major entry gates being developed into full-fledged tourist service centers.

Gate complexes will be developed at Shri Ram, Lakshman, Bharat, Hanuman, Garuda, and Jatayu gates. Tourist facilitation centers will be constructed near each of these gates. Alongside this, budget hotels, guest houses, tourist centers, and tourism offices will also be developed.

Moreover, the complexes will include art and craft galleries, food courts, cafeterias, restaurants, amphitheaters, multi-level parking facilities, green areas, and EV charging stations—offering world-class facilities to visitors. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has finalized the blueprint, and work on the outlined construction and development projects will be carried out swiftly.

Jatayu Gate to feature the largest Tourist Facilitation Center

According to the blueprint prepared by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, among the six tourist facilitation centers (TFCs) planned in Ayodhya, the one at Jatayu Gate will be the largest. Located on Ambedkar Nagar Road, the tourist center at Jatayu Gate will cover an area of 5.76 hectares. Meanwhile, the center at Shri Ram Gate on Lucknow Road will span 4.91 hectares. The center at Lakshman Gate on Gonda Road will cover 4.5 hectares; Bharat Gate on Sultanpur Road, 2.04 hectares; Hanuman Gate on Gorakhpur Road, 3.59 hectares; and Garuda Gate on Raebareli Road, 4.98 hectares.

Wide range of amenities including budget hotels to benefit tourists

As per the plan, the construction of tourist facilitation centers near the gate complexes will provide world-class amenities to those visiting Ayodhya. These centers will offer 3-star, 2-star, and budget hotels, guest houses, tourist centers, tourism offices, art and craft galleries, food courts, cafeterias, restaurants, amphitheaters, multi-level parking, green zones, and EV charging stations.

In addition to this, the development will include toilet blocks, WSTPs and STPs, petrol and CNG pumps, MLCPs (multi-level car parks), boundary walls, open pavilions, and modern food courts—ensuring a comprehensive and comfortable experience for tourists.
