India’s Healthcare System Among the Strongest and Largest in the World – Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : India’s healthcare system is among the largest and most advanced in the world, having made significant strides in various medical services. The country leads in immunization, women’s and child healthcare, and other medical services. Additionally, medical tourism has opened up new avenues in India, stated Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda at a function held here today.

The Union Minister inaugurated Kaushalam – The Skill Lab at R.K. Damani Medical College, under the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Medical Foundation, affiliated with Sri Ramachandra Institute of Medical Sciences.

Present at the event were Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Bhagwat Karad, industrialists Krishi Kumar Bagla and Umesh Dashrathi, as well as Dr. Videsh Kesari, Dr. Satish Kulkarni, and the college’s Dean Dr. Swati Shiredkar, along with department heads and medical students.

Minister Nadda said that the legacy of service inspired by Dr. Hedgewar is being carried forward through this hospital, which is dedicated to public health. With a mission-oriented approach, the hospital has consistently served underprivileged patients. The expanded services through R.K. Damani Hospital and Medical College will further strengthen this commitment.

He emphasized that emerging healthcare technologies must be used to enhance the well-being of common citizens. Every doctor and medical professional at the hospital and college has a vital role in creating such opportunities.

Highlighting India’s achievements, Nadda said that the country’s progress in healthcare serves as a model for other nations. Despite vast population and geographical diversity, India’s healthcare system remains strong and forward-looking. The country is now producing the highest number of specialist doctors globally, with many Indian medical professionals also earning recognition abroad.

He encouraged new students to view the medical field as an opportunity for public service and to dedicate themselves to making a meaningful impact on society.
