Maharashtra to Make Rail Crossings Free – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Inauguration of RE Road Cable Stayed Road Over Bridge and Titwala Road Over Bridge by Chief Minister

Maharail’s First Cable Stayed Road Over Bridge in Mumbai

Mumbai : Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (Maharail) has undertaken large-scale railway bridge projects across Maharashtra. So far, 32 bridges have been completed by Maharail, and 25 more bridges are expected to be completed this year. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized that the state aims to make Maharashtra free from railway crossings, and Maharail has been entrusted with this responsibility.

At the inauguration ceremony of the RE Road Cable Stayed Road Over Bridge and Titwala Road Over Bridge, a joint initiative by the Maharashtra Government, Ministry of Railways, and Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke. The event was attended by Minister of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Mangalprabhat Lodha, MLA Adv. Manisha Kayande, Chairperson of the Maharashtra State Child Protection Commission Sushiben Shah, MLA Manoj Jamsutkar, MLA Praveen Darekar, and Maharail’s General Manager Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal, among other dignitaries. MLA Vishwanath Bhoi and former Union Minister Kapil Patil participated via video conference from Titwala.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “The work on the RE Road Cable Stayed Bridge was completed by Maharail under very challenging conditions, with minimal disruption to traffic, ensuring continuous movement. The project was executed using advanced technology and dynamic techniques to ensure high-quality construction. Bridges are often a center of attraction and, in a way, add value to the city. With this thought in mind, the bridge has been constructed with excellent architectural features, including electric lighting and other enhancements. Additionally, through Maharail, ten similar bridges have been constructed in Nagpur, and their inauguration will take place soon.”

RE Road Cable Stayed Bridge
The RE Road Cable Stayed Road Over Bridge is a six-lane bridge located between the RE Road and Dockyard Road railway stations on the Harbor Line of the Central Railway, near the RE Road station. This is the first cable stayed road over bridge in Mumbai by Maharail.

Titwala Road Over Bridge
The Titwala Road Over Bridge is a four-lane bridge located on the Kalyan-Ring Road, between the Titwala and Khadavli railway stations in the Kalyan-Igatpuri division.
