Hon’ble Prime Minister To Inaugurate 103 Amrit Bharat Stations Including Joychandi Pahar Station Of West Bengal

Hon’ble Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi will inaugurate 103 numbers of railway stations those which were transformed into Amrit Bharat Stations (through video conferencing) including Joychandi Pahar Station of West Bengal on 22.05.2025.

Furthermore, both Panagarh Railway Station under the Barddhaman-Durgapur section, and, Kalyani Ghosh Para Railway Station under the Kalyani-Kalyani Simanta section of West Bengal will also be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on the same day. Altogether, a total number of 100 Stations of West Bengal are being developed under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

The redevelopment of railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is a significant step towards modernising the region’s railway infrastructure. With a focus on enhancing passenger amenities, improving accessibility and incorporating sustainable design, these upgradations will not only elevate the travel experience but also contribute to the economic growth of the region.

Joychandi Pahar station which is in Purulia District of West Bengal serves as a vital point for passenger and freight transportation. The redevelopment of Joychandi Pahar Station of Adra Division has been completed in record time to provide improved passenger amenities. The upgradation of Joychandi Pahar Station would provide an impetus to the budding climbers who prefer this place as a training spot for Rock Climbing Courses.

The integrations of modern facilities like lifts, renovated & improved Station Concourse, Retiring Room, Dormitory, 1st and 2nd Class Waiting Halls, Developed Platform Surface with Granite etc. have been an arena which have experienced a cutting edge transformation at Joychandi Pahar. The work of Ramps, Water Booth and Toilet for Divyangjans, Parking Area development with morum surface, Booking Counter for Divyangjans, Local Art Painting (Madhubani Painting) in the concourse & station Area, Circulating Area Development, Tactile tile fixing, Road Repairs towards main entry and Road widening towards Parking have also been undertaken.

A Media tour has been also organised at Joychandi Pahar Station to showcase the infrastructure development works. The representative from Print & Electronic Media, Rail Fans, Social Media influencers visited the newly developed station. During the visit, media representatives were provided with a comprehensive brief about the amenities provided at Joychandi Pahar Station.
