Raipur : The Ramakrishna Mission Ashram Ground in Narayanpur is all set to witness a thrilling display of youthful energy and football fervor as the much-anticipated final of the Swami Vivekananda Under-20 National Football Championship takes place on May 27, featuring a face-off between Delhi and Mizoram. Both teams booked their spots in the final with impressive 4-0 wins in their respective semifinal matches.
Delhi showcased a commanding performance against the Sports Authority of India. A confident start saw Armaan Ahmed net a header in the 15th minute, setting the tone for the match. Early in the second half, Sankhil Darpol Tuishang pierced through the opposition defense to score the second goal. Prashant Jazo followed up with a third after outmaneuvering the goalkeeper, and finally, Aditya Adhikari sealed the deal with a fourth goal in the 65th minute.
Mizoram, on the other hand, displayed their attacking prowess and strategic balance against Meghalaya. Applying pressure from both ends of the field, they pushed Meghalaya onto the backfoot. After opening the scoring in the 28th minute, they tightened their grip on the game. In the 76th minute, Lalringheta confidently converted a penalty. Denthes Lalhriatpuia added another in the 83rd minute with a brilliant move, and in stoppage time, F. Vanlalchanchua scored the fourth, rounding off Mizoram’s emphatic win.
Both Delhi and Mizoram remain unbeaten in the tournament so far, setting the stage for a high-voltage final.
