Sai Government Committed to Dignity and Welfare of the Elderly: Minister Lakshmi Rajwade

Conducts Surprise Inspection of Senior Citizens’ Ashram, Orders Improvement in Facilities

Raipur – Chhattisgarh’s Minister for Social Welfare, Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade, conducted a surprise inspection today at the Government’s newly established Senior Citizens’ Ashram located in Mana Camp, Raipur. During her visit, she interacted warmly with the elderly residents, listened to their concerns, and enquired about their needs and daily routines.

Minister Rajwade affirmed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is fully committed to ensuring the dignity and welfare of the elderly. “Our government is actively working towards providing enhanced facilities for senior citizens,” she emphasized.

While expressing general satisfaction with the management of the ashram, the Minister stressed the importance of maintaining better cleanliness. She instructed the officials to strictly adhere to hygiene standards and ensure regular upkeep of the facility.

Engaging empathetically with the residents, Minister Rajwade discussed various aspects of their well-being, including health, nutrition, entertainment, and daily necessities. Many elderly residents shared their personal experiences and suggestions with her. Taking their inputs seriously, the Minister assured that all suggestions would be considered with compassion and care.

She further directed officials to take all necessary steps to ensure that the elderly living in the ashram are provided with a respectful, secure, and supportive environment. Senior officials from the Social Welfare Department, members of the ashram management committee, and staff were also present during the visit.
