Good Governance Means Public Convenience, Prompt Redressal of Issues, and Quality Services: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

CM Reviews Development in Kondagaon, Bastar, and Sukma Districts

Raipur : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized that good governance is defined by attention to public convenience, timely resolution of problems, and the delivery of quality services. He stated that the objective of the ongoing “Good Governance Festival” is to evaluate the on-ground implementation of government schemes over the past one and a half years and to receive feedback directly from the public. Addressing a review meeting held at the Kondagaon Collectorate conference hall, he urged all officials and employees to work with alertness and empathy in the spirit of true public service.

Focusing on forest-produce-based employment in the Bastar region, the Chief Minister called for a strategic push towards value addition in products like tamarind and silk cocoons to generate local employment. He also emphasized the need to promote silkworm farming, beekeeping, and lac production. He directed that locally made products should be supported through wider promotion and marketing to boost commercial activity.

Regarding the high number of applications under the Ujjwala Yojana, the Chief Minister instructed officials to increase the refill percentage and promote awareness about the LPG subsidy. He also set a target to resolve revenue-related issues, especially land demarcation cases, by 15 June. Highlighting maize as a key crop in Bastar, he encouraged efforts to boost productivity through modern techniques. He urged collectors to take a personal interest in promoting the cultivation of aromatic organic rice and focus on certification, marketing, and branding.

Principal Secretary Shri Subodh Singh stressed the importance of swiftly correcting errors in official documents, particularly spelling mistakes in names. Addressing the backlog under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Kondagaon, he directed prompt action to start pending construction and advised training local youth as masons to overcome the current shortage. The Chief Minister praised the initiative in Bijapur, where surrendered Maoists are being trained as masons, and recommended replicating the model in other districts.

He also reviewed the progress of national highway projects and instructed speedy resolution of forest clearance issues, re-tendering processes, and compensation cases to expedite construction.

The meeting was attended by Bastar MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap, Keshkal MLA Shri Neelkanth Tekam, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Subodh Singh, Secretary to CM Dr. Basavaraju S., Commissioner Shri Doman Singh, IG Shri Sundarraj P., collectors, superintendents of police, Zila Panchayat CEOs, Divisional Forest Officers, and other senior officials from the three districts.
