Mudvendi Village Glows with the Light of Good Governance
Nyayad Nellanar Yojana Becomes a Beacon of Transformational Change
Raipur : Mudvendi, a small village in Bijapur district that for years bore the brunt of Maoist violence, is now a shining example of positive transformation. Located about 35–40 kilometers from the district headquarters, the village is now connected with clean drinking water, a paved road, and most recently, electrification—thanks to the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and the implementation of the Nyayad Nellanar Yojana.

Home to just 45 families, the village has witnessed an unprecedented shift in recent days. What used to plunge into darkness after sunset, making movement at night risky, is now illuminated with electric lights, sparking a sense of hope and possibility among the residents.
From Maoism to Good Governance
Once cut off from the mainstream due to Maoist insurgency, Mudvendi is now seeing the arrival of basic infrastructure—roads, electricity, and water. But the transformation is not limited to these physical amenities; it is also visible in the social and educational fabric of the village.
Resident Hura Kunjam shares, “We have electricity in our village after years. Earlier, children couldn’t study after dark. Now, they can read comfortably even at night. It has also reduced the dangers posed by snakes, scorpions, and wild animals.” He adds that the school, which had been closed for years, has now reopened under the Nyayad Nellanar Yojana, giving the village children a long-awaited opportunity to pursue education right in their own community. For the villagers, this is nothing short of a dream come true.
A Festival of Hope
Another villager, Lakhma Kunjam, says, “There’s a celebratory mood in the village now that electricity has arrived. Household chores are easier at night, children can study, and the village feels much safer than before.”
Nyayad Nellanar Yojana: A Ray of Hope
Launched by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai for Maoist-affected regions, the Nyayad Nellanar Yojana has emerged as a symbol of revolutionary change. It is not only facilitating developmental works but also instilling a sense of security, trust, and self-reliance among rural communities.
The story of Mudvendi shows that when governance is honest and schemes are effectively implemented on the ground, even the remotest regions can witness rays of transformation. Today, Mudvendi is known not for its past darkness but for its newfound light. This is the true face of good governance and the direction of a New Chhattisgarh.
