Settlement of 44 Cases in Jaipur Metropolitan-II Victim Compensation Meeting; Over ₹64.72 Lakh Awarded, Honorarium Orders Issued for Panel Advocates

In compliance with the guidelines issued in June 2025 under the Action Plan 2025–26 of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, a meeting concerning the Rajasthan Victim Compensation Scheme and legal aid services was held under the chairmanship of Mrs. Rita Tejpal, Chairperson of the District Legal Services Authority (District & Sessions Judge), Jaipur Metropolitan-II.

Mrs. Pallavi Sharma, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (Additional District & Sessions Judge), Jaipur Metropolitan-II, informed that the meeting was convened as part of ongoing efforts to ensure prompt justice for the public, as directed in the action plan of the Hon’ble Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority.

A total of 44 petitions and applications submitted by victims of serious crimes such as murder, rape, and human trafficking were presented under the Victim Compensation Scheme. After careful deliberation by the committee’s chairperson and members, compensation amounts/awards were sanctioned. A total compensation of ₹64,72,500 was awarded in these cases.

Following the settlement of these matters, the meeting also addressed the honorarium payable to the panel advocates appointed under the legal aid scheme. As per the rules, necessary proceedings were conducted and orders were issued for the payment of honorariums to the advocates.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Anish Dadhich (Judge, Labour Court No. 01, Jaipur Metropolitan-II), Mr. Shiv Kumar (Judge, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal No. 1, Jaipur Metropolitan-II), Mr. Bajrang Shekhawat (Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jaipur North), Mr. Santosh Kumar Meena (ADM South), Mrs. Sulesh Chaudhary (Additional DCP West), Mr. Sandeep Kumar Luhadia (President, Bar Association), and Mr. Sant Kumar Jain (Public Prosecutor).
