Students at Santpeeth Will Spread the Teachings of Bhagwat Dharma Worldwide: CM Devendra Fadnavis

CM inaugurates Art Gallery and Auditorium at Sant Tukaram Maharaj Santpeeth

Pune : To take Indian culture, the teachings of saints, and traditions to the world, it is first necessary to pass them on to the next generation. The Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj Santpeeth aims to provide education and training with this objective, and students learning here will carry Bhagwat Dharma across the globe, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during the inauguration of the Art Gallery and Auditorium at the Santpeeth located in Talegaon-Chikhli.

CM Fadnavis praised the Santpeeth, which combines the values of the Warkari tradition with modern education, saying that this initiative will preserve the legacy of Maharashtra’s saints while giving it a universal identity. The curriculum at the Santpeeth will integrate Sant literature into the CBSE framework, and teachings will be offered in Sanskrit, Marathi, Hindi, and English. Students will also receive training in various musical instruments.

Present at the event were MP Shrirang Barne, MLAs Mahesh Landge and Amit Gorkhe, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Santpeeth Director Dr. Sadanand More, members of the Chintan Committee, Santpeeth Committee, parents, and students.

The CM added that the government would extend full support to upcoming Santpeeth projects in Pandharpur and Alandi, and ensure that all Santpeeth institutions work in synergy. With India’s new education policy, Marathi now has the opportunity to become a language of knowledge, economics, and global communication. While we must take pride in our language, we must also respect all Indian languages, he emphasized.

Dr. Sadanand More, Director of Santpeeth, lauded the initiative taken by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to establish a school rooted in the Sant tradition. He stated that the Santpeeth will serve as a powerful medium to communicate the values and philosophies of saints to the masses and play a significant role in the vision of a Developed India by 2047. He appealed to the government to provide continued support to future expansion plans of the Santpeeth.

The program began with CM Fadnavis inaugurating key facilities at the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Santpeeth in Chikhli, including the Sant Malharpant Kulkarni Vocal Room, Sant Sonba Thakur Pakhawaj Room, Pandit Arvind Mulgavkar Tabla Room, and the Alijabahadur H.B.P. Mahadji Shinde Auditorium. He also launched the institution’s textbooks.

Additionally, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has planned the plantation of 1.5 lakh native trees this year, and the initiative was ceremonially launched by the Chief Minister.

The Santpeeth, built at a cost of ₹23.54 crore, features a ground plus five-storey building with a total built-up area of 13,161 square meters. It includes 55 classrooms, 9 administrative offices, and 40 other rooms including science labs, computer labs, music and instrument rooms, and an auditorium. There are restrooms on each floor and a large playground for students.

CM Inaugurates Sculptures of Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Namdev

CM Fadnavis also inaugurated a grand sculptural installation depicting the historic meeting of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Namdev Maharaj, developed by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation along the Pune-Alandi Palkhi route. The “Sant Srushti” (World of Saints) installation includes murals and 25 metal sculptures representing various Warkari saints including Sant Namdev, Sant Dnyaneshwar, Sant Sopandev, Sant Nivrutti, Sant Muktabai, and 20 others. A total of 47 bronze sculptures depicting scenes from the lives of saints have been completed at a cost of ₹30.69 crore.
