PM Shri Modi has hoisted flag of Indian culture throughout world through Yoga-carrier of India’s ancient knowledge and science: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Dongla is now developing as a town. It was a town in ancient times and a major center of time calculation; it will be re-established as the centre of time calculation. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, through Yoga—the carrier of India’s ancient knowledge and science—has hoisted the flag of Indian culture throughout the entire world. According to the vision of Prime Minister Shri Modi, today’s world is not of war but of non-violence and the world of Lord Buddha. Our Sanatan culture speaks not of the manifestation of power but of the welfare of the world through education and science. For thousands of years, our sages and seers have collected knowledge through meditation and have worked for the welfare of the world through that knowledge. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said this during a dialogue with students at the Varahamihira Astronomical Observatory located in Dongla on Saturday.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that today, on the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day, Yoga is being practiced in every corner of the world. Through Yoga, doors of peace are being opened by connecting people worldwide. In recent centuries, importance was given to Western science, but in the 21st century, Indian knowledge is being valued. After Covid, everyone has understood the importance of the Indian cultural greeting ‘Namaskar’. Our archaeological knowledge is more precious and important than even the valuable objects of creation.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that here, at the Dongla observatory, the Sun’s movement can be measured through the Shanku Yantra (cone instrument). In the Indian knowledge tradition, our ancestors made science a part of our lifestyle through small principles. This scientific lifestyle has kept our culture alive till today. Possibly, Lord Shri Krishna might have come from Narayana Dham to Dongla during the Mahabharata period in search of this observatory. This could also be the scientific form of Lord Shri Krishna. The Madhya Pradesh government is fully committed to making the Varahamihira Astronomical Observatory at Dongla an international research center under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Modi.

National Organisation Minister of Vigyan Bharati, Dr. Shivkumar Sharma, said that during the discussion on International Yoga Day, questions related to ancient Indian science arise. Time measurement is done here based on constellations. Through this dialogue, you have got the opportunity to become carriers of the Indian knowledge tradition. In ancient times, this place was a center of calculation, and through our research, we will make it the center of time calculation again.

At the beginning of the programme, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was presented with a plant by the In-charge Minister Shri Tetwal and MP Shri Firozia. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav lit the lamp and interacted with students. During the program, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav distributed curriculum and bags to students entering the school. On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Science and Technology Shri Sanjay Dubey, Director General Science and Technology Council Dr. Anil Kothari, Scientist Ganti S Murthy, Dr. Arvind Ranade, representatives Shri Rajesh Dhakad, Shri Bahadur Singh Chauhan, Commissioner Shri Sanjay Gupta, Collector Shri Raushan Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police Shri Pradeep Sharma were present.
